Blimey, you lot. You never fail to amaze me. After a but if a slow start at breakfast, the numbers increased significantly over the course of the day, and I think we had over 100 in the Paternoster by the end of the day.

Here's the video of Danny for those of you who couldn't hear it

We've raised at least 1300 for Dorothy House, and from what I hear this is likely to exceed 2000 in total. If you'd like to donate, please go to www.justgiving.com/karmageddon11 or you can donate by text message. Just text JOIN50 plus the amount you'd le to donate up to a maximum of 10 to 70070 (so for example if you'd like to donate a fiver, text JOIN50 5 to 70070)

It was really nice to meet you all at my first K! I feel a bit guilty being silvered just for turning up, but if the leader decreed it.... I will try to live up to it with some special RAOKs in 2013.

Also, could someone let me know / PM me the Facebook group, as was told this is a better way to keep in touch with joinees.

Ta v much,

Louise

Thanks for sharing that, Neil (and thanks for the wedding mention in the vido).

Sorry we couldn't stay longer and catch up with more people properly (Andrew had been up since 3am), but both of us did really enjoy it while we were there.

Weez - glad I got to meet you, albeit very briefly before we rushed off. Hope you enjoyed it.

Carol and I had a great time, and was lovely to see all my old friends again, as well as just catch up with the few I see here and there throughout the year. Really chilled and great to see all the kids around (although I worry that one day they'll outnumber us in a terrifying sugar-fuelled coup!)
But I wanted to say a special thanks to four people.

Mr Collins - for arranging stuff so well despite being pretty busy. Another fabulous year!

Mr Kennington - a compere beyond compare, his delivery was like... erm... yes... beyond compare. Really made the auction/raffle great fun with his wonderful skills. This guy should go into the entertainment industry, front a band or something. He'd be great!

Mum White - for spectacular bidding, and for joining in with the book swap. Yes, we'll definite arrange the book swap more thoroughly next year.

Mr Worm - A great and moving speech that brought home the importance of why a lot of us come back every year. As an additional personal note thanks for the book you brought to the book swap, as it's the one I picked up and started reading straight away. I'm hoping that, once I've finished it, I can pass it on to another Joinee, and hopefully it'll get passed amongst Joinees until you get a chance to actually read it yourself. :-)

Thanks for those of you who took books home with you - I appreciate some of you had them thrust upon them, as prizes in the raffle, but I hope they entertain and can be further recommended to other Joinees further down the line.

Happy December everyone!

Thank you everybody! it was great to be able to be with you as I'm the only Joinee in Spain and I feel a little lonely sometimes.. My friend will have to join now that she may have been silvered by mistake and she was also very impressed by the auction and not so scared now. Thanks Whitby for the photos, Mum White for everything, Crazy Dave for being crazy and lovely and making me feel a sane person... All of you are lovely people and I'm proud to be a part of it.

I don't want nobody to be left out so thank you all and a big hug!!

I think I may have said that. What I meant is that the forum's got a lot quieter than it used to be. The internet has changed a lot in the decades of Join Me's existence. The forum existed before Facebook and Twitter, and lots of the Off Topic stuff that used to happen here has moved there.

Some good places to track down the joinees you met at the weekend:

@JoineeForum
@joinees
Karmageddon 11 event

Also there's less Join Me-et's than there used to be, but more birthday parties (and weddings!) that whilst not open to the whole world in the way that Join Me-ets are, often get Facebook invites thrown out to known Joinees.

And of course a MASSIVE thanks to Neil for making it all happen, to Jammin for getting the video, to Abad and Weeze for letting me enthuse at them, Mum White for the re-writable "FREE HIGH 5s!" sign, and everyone else who I ran around and stuck my deer-muffs on. Amazing day.

Oops! That's my fault. I was adding the captions whilst quality checking the hot Rekorderlig on Friday afternoon and completely forgot about Lou & Luke. Sorry about that.

Thanks GJ CDave, for the congrats (still feel guilty) and I've joined the twitter group.

GJ Drought - I'm not sure if we met, I was introduced to so many people and as the beer flowed I may have gotten little hazy on names and faces!

Just wanted to say a special thank you to Worm for spending so much time making Steve & I feel so welcome and introducing us to people, and to Rachel B for the same. I look forward to many more K's and RAOKs in the future.

Hugs,

L x

Have to say thanks for all the hard work from everyone to raise such a great amount this year. Unfortunately my stepmother died not long after K11, only months after my dad, and Dorothy House was a great support to both of them. Thank you all. Rock on.

Just a quick update. My rather lovely employers have a policy whereby they match any funds raised by an employee up to a maximum of £250. I've received confirmation this afternoon that they've donated £250 to Dorothy House, taking the total so far to £1,888 (plus £409.50 in GiftAid)

That's tremendous.
The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

Never look down on someone unless you're helping them up.
