My bus ride home is half an hour. Today a classmate sat next to me. We started talking. I offered her a chocolate. She told me about her daughter, new furniture, missing class last week and how she wants a new car. I told her about my upcoming trip and asked if she knew what steampunk was. At that point another classmate changed seats and moved in to ask me if she'd heard me right. I asked, "How do you mean?" Then she wanted to know if I had mentioned chocolate AND steampunk. She started telling me all about her life. Eventually the first lady stood to get off the bus and catch a connection. L and I rode further and she had me laughing so much. She says she is perceived by others as crazy because of her appearance and opinions. Even in high school. I said that if people had told me things like that about her had we attended the same school, she'd be my first choice for study group! She transfers THREE times from home riding a total of over two hours to get to campus. When I got up to leave she said, "This is your stop? You're leaving me? Alone again." I gave her my cell number and asked her favorite colors and metal and I am now going to make her a personalized steampunk card.

She's funny and fascinating. Her name is Laray. Send her vibes of friendship. I will give her all the necessary info for joining us!

I'll have to apologize to Khyaan, though. Once Laray started talking she grew very quiet. (Ditto about Join Me)

So, vibes to her and her three children. And for a reliable babysitter!

I thank you. :) xoxo

Laray's favorite colors are black and white. Her metal is pewter. This is her card.

Getting to be an important person at a London meeting.

Which essentially means sitting in a pub with cool people out of a band.

Really great meeting with really cool people yesterday, and an unexpected 10-15 minutes catch up with Del at St Pancras.

Winner.

when asked why we don't provide customers with a price plan that doesn't give you any minutes or texts, and only allows you to use blackberry messenger, having to explain to upset/confused customer that our price plans are designed so that peoples phones will work. pfft can you imagine paying over £40 a month just to be able to send a message to the few other people you know on BB messenger! idiots!

Background knowledge so that the story makes sense #1: My mum's name is Pat.
Background knowledge so that the story makes sense #2: My dad is obsessed with his new iPad. He loves it.

Story of what made me smile: My Dad emailed me and referred to mum as "my iPat". Too cute!

Relatedly, it has made me smile lots to see Mr Bellamy in the press for being awesome. A decade down the line and I still love that boy more than I ever, ever should.

Boys, boots and b..... no, I've run out of alliteration, the last one is: DVDs.

[a few minutes later]

WAIT! I got it. Bellamy. That's my alliteration complete. I love massive newspaper articles about him (when the mention the good bits, not just the bad).

Pay day yesterday. I cleared one credit card, cleared nearly half of my other, and have more than adequate spending money for February, including a birthday weekend in Amsterdam and a car service.

Then I finished my 10/11 tax return. I've been paying HMRC £5 per month by direct debit for the past year, so they have £60 of mine, to use against any potential tax bills. My tax for 10/11 came to a grand total of 80p. So I requested the extra money back, and have been REALLY good and sent it all straight to the credit cards, rather than viewing it as an extra treat.

So yes. I seem to be doing ok money-wise, and getting back on track after my year of going slightly mental with it, due to actually going slightly mental over other things. I don't just have a "yay for being in charge of my finances" sort of feeling, it's also a bit of a "yay for getting control back over yet another thing in my life I lost control over completely for that year"

It's not just money, it's a sign that I am getting better mental-health wise and it makes me very happy :)

When I finished my A Levels, I distinctly remember being sat on the floor of my bedroom in tears at the fact that I knew I would never see one of the boys ever, ever again.

Cut to 8 years later and not only are we always in touch and making sure we meet up when we can, we're going on holiday together for a week to go to the Hungarian Grand Prix.

If ever I get to time travel, that time just after my A Levels will be top on my list to visit. I wouldn't give away too many details (I promise not to rupture the space/time continuum), but I'd just like to tell myself to save the tears because I couldn't possibly be more wrong.

Volunteers training for the Food Bank this afternoon.
We have got enough volunteers to make it work, everything is in place and we are going to launch on Friday.
We have 11 referring agencies coming to the launch.
This is a big project, but it's going to work :) Mum White.

Got a phone call form a supply agency, and I am booked in for my registration meeting next Monday. This is making me smile lots as it is a big step into getting back in the classroom, and therefore having money.

(It is also making me pull a scared face though. What if they don't want me? What if I'm not good enough? What if I can't do it?)

Got a phone call form a supply agency, and I am booked in for my registration meeting next Monday. This is making me smile lots as it is a big step into getting back in the classroom, and therefore having money. YAY! Hurrah! You go, girl!!

(It is also making me pull a scared face though. What if they don't want me? What if I'm not good enough? What if I can't do it?) Blah blah blah di blah.

Also, Jane, Joinees, Sheli and Chuck. (Chuck teaches Psych. Chuck is cool.)

THE best penalty miss ever from Burnley. It literally nearly went out for a throw. I swear our keeper dived before he was anywhere near the ball as well so all he had to do was slot it down the middle.

Bad times as a forest fan when your laughing at the other team NOT scoring more then 2 goals.
