They're caught in a time-loop?

I always thought the Beetles ought to have been in a Doctor Who episode.

George can't bring himself to look at Ringo holding a giant panda head.

I know many people who don't like the Beatles at all. I like their music. The popularity in the States stems from the British invasion attraction. Something new. My youngest daughter, Bonnie, loves them. I fell in love with Mr. Moonlight, one of their least popular tunes. And I'm Down. Seems very few folks cared for either song. I still love hearing both.

I think Ringo looks borderline spooky in that vid.

And I agree with Captain K. :pirate:

The Beatles were very very very good. But *no one* is worthy of universal "best band ever" acclaim. I think a lot of people don't like them at all because the expectations are set so ridiculously high, that when you listen to them, you can only be disappointed. Like all good bands, a lot of their music is merely "okay" or "pretty good". But I also reckon they did more "very good" and "fantastic" songs than the vast majority of successful bands.

Hmmm. I feel a new thread coming on.

And I'm sure the Beatles will be in Doctor Who before long.

I should probably point out I don't think they're bad at all. In fact, I like some of their songs very much indeed. But for every "We can work it out" and "Hey Jude", there's a "Love me do" or an "Octopus's Garden". Or indeed a "Yellow Submarine". And the least said about Ringo "luckiest session drummer ever" Starr the better. Anyway, everyone knows the Stones had all the really cool stuff ;)

But just to throw a spanner in the works, in other pop blasphemy "Imagine" is a load of stupid, mawkish rubbish.

You've got "Hey Jude" and "Octopus's Garden" the wrong way round! In my opinion, of course, which may be contrary to most on this matter... :)

Octopus's Garden would be fine if it were something on a CBeebies show :)

I  Octopus's Garden. Which probably proves Gaz's point. ;)

(My favourite Beatles song is If I Fell. My second favourite is Hey Bulldog. I enjoy the variedness of this.)

:D Maybe that's why I like it! It puts me in mind of the simple strangeness of a lot of They Might be Giants songs....
