After realising how well their engine(s) does horses I'm really hoping there'll be mounted cops in this that I can steal the horsey from. I want to ride into an mp deathmatch firing my rifle from the back of a steed!

in my head i can totally see this playing. I'll be wiping the fresh blood from my knife having just skinned a pigeon and be looking to steal the car im standing next to, then a bear will appear from nowhere causing me to panic. however, in my frantic button mashing i have selected to cultivate some herbs from the dandelion growing out of a crack in the pavement. The bear for some reason happily waits for me to finish.

whatever happens, you will definatly find me at the top of a tall building throwing ordinance out at anything that twitches

I have to admit, a tiny part of me is sad that we're not going to see a next-gen 1980s Vice City. Unless this *is* a next-gen Vice City, in which case woohoo!

Well... The first 2 games did go 'Liberty-Vice-San Andreas' in order of cities unlocked & the GTA III engine went through them in the same order. So it would follow the pattern if this was set in Vice City. No idea as to what era though.

This is all well and good... but is it going to be any FUN?! I haven't had that much actual fun playing a GTA game since Vice City.

I enjoyed San Andreas enough (and did I see 'Vinewood' on the video for this? Doesn't that mean it's San Andreas?) but GTA IV I played twice and barely got into it as I just got bored. So I'm hoping they've addressed that and concentrated on it being a FUN GAME, rather than making it as realistic as possible.

Adam , i think what was lacking for you was an evening spent doing the following...

1)Joining with 3 other joinees online in a helecopter and shooting evertything that moves.
2)joining with other joinees all in helecopters and re-enacting flight of the valkyres from apocalypse now
3)Joining with other joinees and holding out in a building against the police
4) joining the other joinees for an evening of racing
and lastly 5) listening to bennet shout "GET IN THE CHOPPER" over his headset!

actually, forget the game you just needs to experience multiplayer!

Excellent mode. My favourite moment was just a 1-on-1 with my mate Chris, he tried to follow my bike under the bridge, I just flew through the explosions in time & he got stuck under there while I drove off. I managed to survive for over 15 minutes (the average being about 1).
