The Manager has said he'll never play for city again, but Carlos said "there was confusion on the bench and I think my position was misunderstood".
Now just for fun, let's imagine a scenario. You're a footballer on the substitutes bench during a match, and the manager signals to you. Do you think....
a) I wonder if the gaffer wants me to nip and put the kettle on ?
b) I wonder if the gaffer is starving and wants a pie/sossidge/some chips
c) I wonder if the gaffer wants me to stop the noisy non stop support I am giving my team mates ?
d) I wonder if the gaffer wants me to nip and put a bet on
These misunderstandings can happen so easily.

Same as Van Hooijdonk, who was also a prat. Showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect for the club and its fans.

You sign 4 (or more) £20mil+ strikers and you think that if their wages are big enough they'll enjoy warming the bench and not consider your apparently whimsical selection strategy insulting?
The problem at Man City isn't Tevez, it's the current culture of the club. It's not fair on the loyal lifetime fans and it's not fair on other teams who can't sign good players because they are all rotting in the reserves at City. City need to sort out what they want the club culture to mean and then sort out how they are going to make it happen. It's probably just a transitional phase but as of now they just come across as nouveau riche, arrogant arse's. I'd prefer they use their resources to become a club to admire as I already despise Chelsea and Liverpool and could do without another premier league team to hate.

Absolute bollocks. How on earth is the current culture of the club not fair on lifetime fans??!?!?!?!
And what isn't fair on fans of other clubs is FFP rules which will mean no club outside of the top six will ever win the league or acheive champions league football (apart from maybe one fluke season).
How could city use their resources to become a club to admire? We have one of the biggest community projects run by any football club in the world, our corporate sponsors are even funding a new sixth form college in the local area.
Yes the petrodollars could have easily happened to a few other clubs, and I'm over the moon it happened to city, but any other fan would be over the moon of a similar thing happened to their team tomorrow.
City were everyone's second favourite team for most of my lifetime. And we were shite. I love being hated.
Edit: I would like to point out that that ^ was clearly written by me and I know loads about football. It is most certainly not the case that my fiancé should use his own laptop, or at least log out of my account and log himself in before posting. Honestly.

There are fans, I have met them, who find the idea of buying success a little distasteful when it is achieved with apparent mercenaries... rather than players who want to be at the club for it's history. I appreciate that when you are buying such a large number of new players you will get a few bad eggs... but there have been more than a few.

This is a very very valid point. The new UEFA rules help, but a cap on wages is surely necessary?

Community projects is an excellent way forward, I have to admit I didn't know of City's community input as the club doesn't seem to have promoted them in the wider press. Saying that I think they can do more, even hard up Everton have a massive community initiative and are also building a school... so with all those petrodollars I expect to see more than just a sixth form!

You are probably right, however if I was given the option of success through hard work and small investments over a whole new squad of players who are there for the money rather than the best interests of the club then I'd take the success on smaller investments every single time.

They were what now? That's as mad a statement as Bob Champions Arsenal are everyones second favourite team. My second favourite team are Northampton Town... not a premier league club. In the Premier league there are only teams I hate less or teams I don't mind... no second favourites.

Before we got all our cash our huge gates in the third tier of English football generated a lot of respect from other clubs fans, everyone seems to like teams they beat all the time
