Anyone else catch this on BBC3 this week? Seems to have a bit of a Heroes vibe to it, but with some top notch British people in it, giving it that delightfully awkward wit that British things have. The scene with the two of them sat on the bench, obviously fancying each other, was bloody beautiful.

Special effects, being BBC funded, were dreadful, but thought it was a great opener.

Also, nice to see "I RAPE MY DAUGHTERS AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME - OH YOU STOPPED ME WITH AN ORNAMENT" man from This is England in something where he's not a total bastard.

Hahaha! Exactly what I said!

It didn't really go anywhere in the first ep. But the characters seem to have potential. I'll certainly watch a few more & see how it goes.

Cracking second episode. More AWFUL special effects (PLEASE BBC - PLEASE INVEST JUST ANOTHER 50P), but liking the plot and character developments.

I can't decide whether it pleases me that it;s only 6 episodes. In America it'd be about 18, and I think I'd get annoyed with the plotlines being drawn out, but with only 6 episodes I feel like we're kind of missing some big chunks that the writers would have preferred to included.

I think Neil's amazing. Johnny Harris is BRILLIANT. And the kid playing the kid is a really nice balance of incredibly young and awkward and incredibly mature and brave. I liked his big decision at the end.

There's a couple of VERY 2D characters - his sister being one, although I hope she'll develop next week with what looks to be a storyline centred around her gob being sealed up...

We decided last night it's got the dark comic bookness of Walking Dead, combined with a very traditional British dry humour. It's a good combo. I'm liking this a lot.
