Afternoon all
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. Having performed Raok for some time now, it seems appropriate to make it official. I'm really looking forward to hearing about other's random acts (preferably acts of kindness, but feel free to share other random acts if it makes you happy) as could always do with inspiration.

Michelle

Hi Michelle! Good to have you on board!
I had a nice opportunity to do a good deed the other day; a woman at the supermarket was struggling with putting a small watermelon in her cart, so I helped her. Took ten seconds (we had to rearrange what she had in there) and made both of us feel good!
Welcome, and we look forward to hearing more from you!

Hello! I dropped my aunt off in her road a while ago. I was just leaving when I saw a woman with about 8 bags of shopping really struggling to get down the street. So I stopped & offered her a lift (something I would never normally do!) & luckily she only lived 2 streets away; but she was so grateful & so was I that she was not an axe murderer

hi michelle.

my work colleagues struggle to make tea or coffee on a friday because i'm making it for them. i also bring in treats whenever i can. i can be random, too. vending machines are a great place to do anonymous raoks. either leave the money in there or choose the product and leave it for the next person.

welcome to the forum.

Hello, Miss Michelle. I think you know all about my favorite RAoK and this week it shall touch you personally. This is a lovely place to be for people who love to do nice things for others. It's also a wonderful spot to look when you need answers or comfort. We are here for you!

Welcome.

Oooh - my first Friday and I have to be honest, I was a little nervous. I bought a load of little packets of Haribo sweets at the supermarket and promptly gave one to the checkout lady, who was very surprised but very pleased. I mumbled something about a random act and then almost ran away with my trolley. :) So that left me feeling quite good and when I put my trolley back, I stacked another couple of trolleys in line also (do you stack trolleys ??). I finished off by NOT swearing viciously at the idiot driver who tried to cut me up - possibly not quite a raok but I felt virtuous - does that still count ? :D

Not a bad first Friday - I am clearly going for the slow and steady start and nothing too earth shattering - but it all mounts up. How has everyone else got on today ??
Have a great weekend.

M.

Hooray! Well done Michelle! :)

I don't think it really counts, but I made sure to email someone at work to say thank you for all the effort they'd put into creating a nice event for the whole office. I didn't want her to have gone to all that effort and not have anyone say thank you. (Probably some others did say thank you too though, but still)

[edit to say: my story above is probably the type of thing one should just do normally  But it is so easy to forget when you're wrapped up in your own little world...]

Lou: But it's always nice to open a work email and have it be someone being nice and thankful and cheery! Good on ya!

Hiya, I'm still pretty new to this- well I've only had 1 good friday!
But I still make sure I do a raok most days even just by making someone laugh or smile when they're obviously upset!
Also I make sure I buy one thing a week from a charity shop- it really makes you feel good :D

The charity shop purchase is a really good idea - some weeks are harder than others for raoks (and that is a shocking thing to say :( ) but I feel I could redeem myself with a charity shop purchase, thanks for that !
