What's in a name?

It's a lazy topic, but what the hell, it's a Friday. Today's spectacular name is from a paper I was editing on (of all things) rashes from sweaty clothes. One of the authors was the delightfully named MC Pant.

This comes just days after another paper by Dr Dogbag.

Anyone else come across any corkers recently?

Dr Dogbag? Brilliant! I occasionally come across names while looking for stuff online but my attention span is rarely more than about 30 seconds of amusement...if I recall any, I'll let you know...

Ha ha!

When I brought my house, the previous owener introduced himself as Phil Quick. When I got all the paperwork through, I found out that he was actually Ivan Philip (I.P.)Quick (I never asked him if he did!)

In various jobs I've come across the following names:

Ronald McDonald
Kok Fuk

And a small boy whose surname I forget, but his first and middle names were Ross Joey Chandler.

Oh and once in the local papers "vote for my kid for some reason" competition there was a boy called Se7en.

Also, around 40% of the girls at my school came from hong kong and had chosen their own western names. Enid Blyton type books were what they had in mind when they thought of England, so I am guessing I know more girls my age named Fanny than is reasonable... :/ (4 in total)

I love Hong Kong's fondness for creating their own Western name! When I took Northern Sinfonia to the festival there we dealt with Elvis King :D

My friend's boyfriend was called Wayne King. True. Noone ever believes me either Gaz :D

We have a regular customer called Mr Revenge. No idea what his first name is as he's never used it. He just calls up and says, in a clipped baritone "Hullo, is that Simon? It's Mr Revenge here" :D

I like names which I automatically give slogans to. Like Mr Drinkwater ("And he does!"). Or Mr Hands ("He's got 'em!").

Of course I've never met Mr Hands, I just see his name often at work, so he might not actually have any hands. Which would be sad. And I'd have to revisit my catchphrase. Sometimes I find I've muttered "He's got 'em!" out loud when I casually spot his name on the spreadsheet.

I really am simple.

According to Wikipedia, "Wayne King (February 16, 1901 – July 16, 1985) was an American musician, songwriter, singer and orchestral leader. He was sometimes referred to as "the Waltz King" because much of his most popular music involved waltzes". I've seen some of his records in thrift shops. One of them is called, appropriately, "All Alone". ^_^

I read that as "who was a time traveller".

The actual sentence, having re-read it correctly this time, is therefore massively disappointing in comparison.
