http://www.bit-tech.net/ - My mate Joe is the games editor.

Also http://www.pcgamer.com/, they reflect my opinions fairly well for the most part.

But the best games reviews ever were from Idle Thumbs. Their podcasts were the funniest podcasts around, not just for games, for anything. They've closed down now as they've gone on to work for Bethesda, 2K & some other publications, but I can't recommend enough going back through their archive & listening to them from the beginning. That's over 100 1hr podcasts to embark on, but I guarantee after a few you won't regret it. Start at the beginning to get all the in jokes, it's better that way. But they were just amazing. I miss them. So fantastic that I still quote them a lot, but only a few people get the references.

metacritic.com - yes, it's an aggregator but it's good to get a wide range of views. Also gametrailers.com - their reviews are very good and usually on the money.

For news/previews, kotaku.com and joystiq.com are great.

Ergh, kotaku is a horrible site, layout-wise and in tone. Maybe that's just me, though. Agreed on joystiq though.

I use thesixthaxis.com for mainly (it's technically PS3-based, but it caters for other bits and bobs now and again) as it's UK based. Other than that, there's destructoid.com and 1up.com too.

No, I'd agree, I don't really like Kotaku either.
They certainly have a lot of content & get a fair few interesting interviews & early previews, but I don't seem to share many of their opinions & they sometimes seem to have a "print anything" attitude that annoys me.

I only read it via a newsreader to be honest - all the gawker sites have godawful layout via a browser.

www.escapistmagazine.com is pretty good for reviews and news. And they have a fun (albiet sarcastic) video review series called Zero Punctuation, which always makes me chuckle a little.
