Slightly belatedly, a big thank you to the brave band of joinees who made it north for Joinverness this past weekend. It was immense fun as usual, and even more laid back and unplanned than usual, which I think we all felt was a strength! Thanks in particular to James and Marcus, fridgeless this time, for driving such a long way and for my sluice valve sign!

And apologies for not having done a bit more to promote and organise the meet. For various reasons (all good), I've not really spent much time in the Join Me sphere of life, nor in Joinverness planning. I'm not even convinced I'll be around this time next year, or even if there will/should be a Joinverness in the future. That's not to stop people coming up any time they like, but it's hard to predict the future right now (or, frankly, at any point in time, unless you predict it backwards, but then that's not really the future is it?).

Anyway.

Thanks.

And sorry.

And stuff.

Crikey, that makes it sound like I've got a terminal illness.

I meant to say that we might be abroad at this time next year but are not sure.

It was the perfect meet, mate.

No dashing around, all very laid back, good company, good food and all immensely relaxed.

I'll certainly be back up there in the future and quite frankly I can't wait.

Even if the holiday let still has my house keys :(

Great to hear the fridge lads made it back - I was just thinking about their daring appliances into speedboat move that capped last year's Loch Ness barbecue. August means Scotland as far as I'm concerned.

Si, agreed! to all the above nice stuff. Loved the not-much-plannage aspect; really relaxing. My new favourite meet of all time.

I enjoyed it too even though I missed most of it and I am not a Joinee! Sad to say that Flummoxed is no longer produced, so if any one sees a second hand edition any where please buy it for us - I love it! Thanks Kate my love of Flummoxed is all down to you! Was nice to see y'all. N x

So sorry I couldn't make it — though my absence was for a very good thing indeed and that's better than it having been for some rubbish clash with work or some such, at least!

But it sounds like a great meet. I really, really hope we do something next year, even if – Simon – you're not living there any more and one of us has to pop up to be there first and play host! ;)

Hurrah for a very good thing. Oh don't worry, we'll be living up here next year!
