I just wanted to say hi to everyone on here and introduce myself as a new joinee. I read the book ages ago and never really got around to joining, but since my boyfriend is now in the middle of the book, well it sort of reminded me of how good an idea the whole thing is!

So here I am!

I have a day off today and so I'm hoping that I will be able to complete my 1st RAoK as well as getting my passport picture in the post. Are there any joinees in the Manchester area??

Looking forward to meeting lots of lovely people who enjoy spreading some happiness in the world!!

Welcome and Bienvenue! I too did not join for ages after reading the book. Not sure where my copy is to be honest. Couldn't find it last time I looked for it!

There are indeed. Check out these recent threads in particular.

Check out the RAoK section (Random Acts of Kindness) if you want some inspiration, or better yet post there if you get inspired!

Hello Amy.

I'm from Manchester, but I haven't lived there for 13 years, and I haven't been there for about 10.

Well, let me know if you ever make it back up here, I'll gladly show you around the ever-changing city!

Its grown so much! I've only recently moved back myself after an 8 year gap and its gone apartment mental! Still has some hidden gems in terms of pubs though! I can't claim to being a true Manc though I'm afraid - I'm from South Wales originally, so more of a welsh / manc or (Melsh), the other way was a bit dubious!

Hi Amy! I'm not a Manchester joinee per se (given I'm down the road in Hebden) but I'm not averse to a bit of train travel. And, in fact, I'm heading that way on Sunday for the SkyRide. Big Sal's over in Manchester at uni and as Craig mentioned there're a couple of us who keep threatening to have a mini meet but it somehow never has quite happened...there's always time, tho'!

I'm really pleased that there's talk of a Manchester meet!! I would certainly be up for getting involved whenever it takes place. I too will be around on Sunday, not actually riding a bike but a fully fledged supporter on the side (maybe with a cheeky pint and packet of scampi fries in hand!). ;)

My boyfriend is loving the book thanks! Currently on page 107 and going some...Its quite satisfying hearing someone chuckling next to you when you fully appreciate the humorous situations being read. Needless to say, there have been many silent gestures thrown backwards and forwards that translate to, "I know, funny isn't it".

Thanks for the welcoming words guys, everyone seems really friendly on here! :)

Hi Amy,

Good to have another Manc (of types) on board. Keep your eye on the thread that Dave pointed to and maybe the mini Manc meet* will happen.

Enjoy the forum.

No age limit at all, and there's at least one other joinee in Bristol :)

There's very few limits at all to being a Joinee. Just the ability to post (or arrange to be posted on your behalf), a passport photo.

Ooh, I wonder if any of the Joinee's babies have offically Joined in their own right?

Urgent? Has Jimmy fallen down the abandoned mineshaft on old man Zeke's farm, broken his leg, and the flood water is up to his neck already?

Oh wait, that's Lassie...

Hello Sura. Just keep trying the email, but he is rather a busy chap, so your chances of a reply aren't all that good. When I say 'keep trying', I don't mean spam him though. Are you sure it's *really* urgent?
