I shall allow Mr Phil to sell this one a bit himself and show off last year's winning bid: Mum White and the Badly Drawn Giant... It's awesome :)

Anyhoo, if you win this auction, it could be you! Not in a lottery way, more in a character-in-a-cartoon based way...

Let's start the bidding at £3, and have increments of at least 20p.

As with the others, the auctions ends at midnight on the 28th of March. Your cartoon won't be ready for GGF itself though.

GO!

GGF is the start of a 2 week holiday for me so if you're really nice to me I might get the story written in that time.

Last year's story, which you can read in its entirety for free, or buy, if you so wish (I can order copies for GGF if anybody wants them...)

Posted Image

You can give me hints of the sort of thing you'd like to feature in it (last year Jane suggested something to do with the knitting, which I managed to crowbar in). If it's a comic it would be rather shorter than if it's a story with some pictures. Because they take me longer.

(I'm not going to promise one particular format though. Unless it's an exceptionally good idea.)

£5.50. featuring me as a very minor character who is supremely evil and has an eye patch and lives in a volcano. But then probably gets squished or something because that's what happens to bad guys.

On the way home from the cinema this evening I drew the Jabber-Spocky. Just something that could feature if you want it to...

£20 for a magical, romantic and funny story about Mr. Phil© and the Dinosaur Lady™.

I'm no good at romance, and I may declare veto on that particular subject matter. But I'm sure I could come up with something satisfactory.

The story about a snake that eats an elephant is already taken, Mr. Phil. Other than that I have no further ideas. Your imagination running rampant would be fine, I'm sure. Posted Image

A box of Cheerios, who is also a serial killer, and strangles people (using a Cheerio) who like Corn Flakes.

This isn't a bid; I just think it's a twisted idea for you. :)

And also, I may make use of this thread once more...

£25 for my story about my kids the superheros

Cos Xander keeps using his apron for cooking as a cape and running round the house in it trying to do superman music. Brilliant.

Oh bollocks. "The Reactivation of Rachel Rose" may have to wait for another day. It was going to be awesome.

I'll just have to come up with another awesome children-as-superheroes story instead.

Any more bids...?

If you don't want to do it I can retract my bid :(

But I will still give the £5 over what Rachel bid so that the charity doesn't lose out.

Oh, no. Phil is using a teaser to try and get me to bid higher, Michelle. (Ever so clever lad.) And, although the story does indeed sound awesome, a story about two superhero brothers sounds even better. Posted Image

I'll donate thirty, but only if Phil writes that beautiful tale for you and sends me a photocopy.

There.

No no no, I *want* to do it. I'm very happy to do it, it sounds fun. I was going to message you today to ask you more questions, but I was having dinner at my friends' house.

I was indeed being a tease. Though I have also indeed started writing a Rachel Rose story anyway, and I am slightly annoyed because I want to write it. But in exactly the same way as I'm annoyed that I don't have time to spend on all of the following stories:

Bertie the Flying Pig
Camera Boy
The Adventures of Timothy K
Keith Was Just A Regular Guy
...and some others I have notes on but I forget.

So don't be so silly. Of course I'll write your story. That was the whole point of the auction. I'm looking forward to it. :)

[Edit: and without the auction I wouldn't even have come up with the Rachel Rose idea, so it's hardly like I lost out...]

How is this coming along? The 6mth old baby I had when I bid is 2 next Tuesday (I Know! Where the hell has all the time gone!). Is it in a finished format so that I can read it to him on his birthday??

The text is finished (and has been for ages and ages) - I can email that to you if you like! A small numbers of the pictures are done - and some are part completed. I was massively over-ambitious with the illustrations, but I'm hoping to get it finished off this holiday, but I'm also in the process of moving house, which is hindering progress somewhat.

PS Sorry for being so slow! It *will* be done, and hopefully they'll love it - I'm glad I went for something aimed at a bit older than they actually are. Although Arthur's character is a *proper* baby. Mind you Xander's character looks about 10, so there you go. Time warp ahoy!
