ie, ringers. Good work team south.

I see Dannii has decided she's Southern. Jolly good - at least this year you can have no excuses when we beat you. Also, now your best player can actually be a girl, rather than the honorary girls that you've all pretended to be for the last couple of years.

What do you mean, you weren't pretending to be girls...? My bad.

No room for sexism here please. There's nothing wrong with girls.

Just to reassure the South that their favourite dirty mouthed WAG-a-like will be on the sidelines shouting abuse at her boyfriend whilst supporting the good old South!!

COME ON BOYS AND GIRLS!

Excellent news!
It wouldn't be NvS without hearing Tor screaming in my lug'oles (or buggering off to sit in her car  ;) )

Initiative my dear. Why stand in the cold when you can be a hag on the hill?

Also, I believe my car was vital in ending the match the other year. That 2 hour second half needed my horn to end it!

Tor, unless the insanely-long-second-half was repeated 2 years running, I think that was the year before! I remember it quite clearly...my legs didn't work properly for about 3 weeks after (no joke :S) But yes, it was much appreciated!

The injury time in that match was well justified.

Yeah it was the year before last. 2008 was the year of the snow when I stayed in my car and gawped at nutters running around in the blizzard!

Despite the insane weather, and the lack of players, and poor Rich Atkinson's injury (he's been told to never play again :() and of course the result, I really enjoyed that match

Anything close to eleven players then? Or are some of our midlands based team northers going to have to defect to make up for the fact that south have got no HEART players?

At least twelve at the moment.
And I seem to remember that the last time you played, you, er...lost?
And even last year, when we had a bare nine with no subs, it still took Matt Bee to win the match for North and you ain't got him now. Or Thomas. Or Sivar.

I should be there.

Oh and, for reference, I've scored 14 in 9 this season. From left midfield.  ;)

I haven't played in 6 weeks due to little injuries here and other things there and I'm not feeling particularly athletic, but I will be up for it.  ^_^

The only one I'm waiting on then is Mark Hinton. He said he was in, so assuming he makes it, we have twelve.

Me
Scott
Stooz
Mark
Will
Gav (Britt's OH)
Tigger
Dannie
Zena
Noel
Fray
Dazfacearmlegman

With that squad, and based on past performances, I have to say I'm confident.

Sod that, they would go full skins. The beauty of the ladies coupled with the brawn of the men would be enough to win it alone. That's how we roll in the south.

Well, that went quite well didn't it?
As mentioned elsewhere, a thoroughly enjoyable game of football but I do have to give praise to Super Team South.

Will - did well on his debut, although didn't get to see much of the ball! He joins an illustrious list of victorious South goalkeepers, alongside Woppy and...er, that's it...
Daz - solid and dependable and I'm not sure he put a foot wrong in the whole game.
Scott - superb. A number of vital saving tackles and blocks and tactically astute.
Gavin - a marauding centre-half who seemed to be everywhere. Awesome performance and fully justified his Man Of The Match award.
Del - did his best but is starting to show his age. And needs to stay in position, if he crosses the half-way line next year, there'll be trouble.
Dannie - did excellently on her debut, especially first half but as the second went on, it was obvious that something wasn't right. She has done some damage to her knee so we all wish her a very speedy recovery.
Joe - another great debut, covered pretty much every part of the pitch. A wonderful goal chalked off for an earlier infringement.
Fray - did everything he was asked, whether midfield, wing or defence. Some excellent neat touches too.
Tigger - what can be said that hasn't already? Not frightened to go in and win the ball, and some lovely passes too.
Stooz - double goalscorer, the skipper led from the front. Could have scored more if not for the awesome form of Jamie in the North goal.
Noel - another good, solid performance also foiled by Jamie's heroics. And I know it's a cliché but he has a good touch for a big lad.
Zena - enthusiastic and committed, and very happy!
Jon - good second-half performance after coming on at half-time. Dependable and reliable as always.

Once again, well done boys and girls, you did me and the South proud!
