Seeing as I cannae find any other thread pertaining to the list of names of the good folk that are willing to lay their lives(shins) on the line for Team South I thought maybe, perhaps we should start to rally the troops. Seeing as last year..............well let's leave it at that shall we?

1. Scotty 'Judas' Iscariot-traditional Scottish centre back,left back,sweeper. Shouty,tall and aggressive.

That's because I don't know if I'm playing yet. Been a while since I've played football. Trying to work out the finances and what not. So shoosh. I'm encouraging you!

Won't be there, but I will be the metaphysical lone onlooker on the sideline.  No facial expression will be shown.  During a lull in the second half, my metaphysical dog will get onto the pitch and delay play for up to three minutes. (She's quite lively.)  I will make my exit five minutes before full time (just so you'll know it's me).

I see Dannii has decided she's Southern. Jolly good - at least this year you can have no excuses when we beat you. Also, now your best player can actually be a girl, rather than the honorary girls that you've all pretended to be for the last couple of years.

What do you mean, you weren't pretending to be girls...? My bad.

The north knows that I will always love the north... mostly because I moved to yorkshire... of my own free will!

BUT

The fact is... my allegiance this year is torn... can I deny that darling mother, Luton born and bred of parents from southern Ireland hasn't fostered an affection within me for the south of our fair country? I can't.

I may just feel eaten up inside with such a dilemma...

There's a chance that I won't be at GGF or N vs S but if I am I want you ladies and gents of team south to know there'll be a lotta love coming your way from my direction. Just ignore me when I yell support to the northerners too.

Guess who's back?  Back again....

Spurred on by the fact that Matt won't be there this year, and therefore that the one man team that was Team North is pretty much no longer, I thought I better come and offer my services.  I still need to sort out transportation, accomodation and a way that I can be back in South London by 3pm on the saturday to see Millwall trounce Brentford, but I can't miss this...... I will let you know when I'm confirmed.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaz! Hurrah - haven't seen you in aeons!

In other news, I'd forgotten the "fun" of football banter on here. Hmm. Anyways, I'm eternally confused about which side I should play on and I seem to remember swearing never to play football again (and possibly some swearing on pitch too...but I will place at least some of the blame for that on those who shall remain nameless) and avoiding it last year by disappearing to go and massage elsewhere but...well...swigging cava (Vic: you're a legend) and hacking my lungs up is an experience I clearly shouldn't miss. I'm rambling.

I think the time has come to return to the pitch. And given the delightful "banter" of the northerners, despite my place of birth & current place of habitation being the northern side of south, I'm declaring for the south. Now: to find some trainers that still have some grip on...

Tiggs, you're not the only one who has a problem with some of the banter some years. Some of it I have found to be shockingly rude and mean. Thankfully I haven't seen any of that this year, and hopefully on the pitch people will remember it is meant to be fun and friendly. :)

If not, tell me and I shall go tell people off. I really don't want GGF becoming synonymous with this sort of thing...

Aw Zena, you're my hero ;)

Nah, I'm just whinging as I've never really found the banter fun but recognise it's all par for the course and that a lot of folk see it as part of the fun. Call me old fashioned - I like being nice to folk (OK, except when I'm being a meanie, but hey, that generally means I love you enough to think you know that by being mean I'm being nice. Geddit? Yes, not just girl logic but *Tigger* girl logic. Deal) Anyways, looks like us Southies are going to be a force to be reckoned with - I think my side-choosing-preference is now dictated by the side who's banter I find least annoying to me personally. Joys! :)
