Weather Particularly Sunday...

Sunday is a bit more problematic...
BBC Weather says light showers in Shields. Metcheck says no sunny spells.
Last year - other than the joy of quadruple burgers - was a bit of a washout on sunday, and I felt a bit responsible for people having a crap day. If the weather is fine, Shields is LOVELY. There is Jamie flying a kite, pirate crazy golf, lots of nice things. If it's drizzling it's pub then penny arcade.
Do people want to nominate some indoor things in Newcastle they might quite like in case the weather doesn't look like improving and then I can call it on Saturday?

As long as i can shoot some fools - i'm happy either in Newcastle or South Shields really...shame about the weather - i fancied a dip in the sea
There is - ofcourse - always the Metro Centre - and it's indoor theme park, toysaurus! (yes i know) cinema, etc etc

I really enjoyed last year and just had a lovely time. The weather didn't bother me at all.

BUT if you do go to South Shields and once you are there it starts to rain, I put forward the Sand dancer pub, now known as the Crab shack, which is just past Minchellas ice cream place on the end of the road before it bends round to the roundabout where the North run ends. It has been done out recently and is the nicest place down there, and has live music on pretty much every day.
Hope you all have lots of fun on the weekend, wish I could be with you all

Well glad to hear everyone's up for Shields no matter what the weather.
Emily, Do not bring swimwear. The water is FREEZING. Only a hardened hardened Geordie can manage.

The only thing to do if you do step into the water and feel you will never know what heat feels like again is to nip into Minchellas and order one of their cheese toasties, the temperature they get too is pretty near to surface temp of the sun I think! (Plus it is always enjoyable to watch the waitresses walk out into the cafe and start screaming 'TOASTIE' repeatedly to the room until you shout back at them to claim it!)

There's no joy - just Sisyphian mandibular toil followed by the gastrointestinal equivalent of filling a washing machine with mud then trying to empty it with occasional thimbles full of water.

Having said that Dougie might be taking me to his posh golf club for dinner, so I'll shut up.

Ah!
No.
That (<<<<<) is me about to go down a mine somewhere. There were no mines, as far as I recall, in Metro Land. Although it is very far north, so it would be reasonable to assume that there might have been. I think I'm about 8 in my avocado.
