DRS and tyres that fall to bits do not make F1 exciting for me. Glad as I am that I actually support a winner for once, I think that something needs to be done. I think that this was the first race where DRS really was a joke, the fact that you can come from sooo far back to overtake takes the fun out of it; however I think it is the tyres that are all wrong and not DRS. The DRS time limit needs reducing, I think 0.5 seconds would be a lot fairer, but I think that DRS could be tweaked to work. The tyre issue is a joke though, the tyres should be less marginal and I don't expect it'll be long before people do start complaining. I think Jenson summed it up though, DRS makes you a sitting duck, that's not racing.

Yep, DRS just didn't work today. I have a feeling that at most races it'll either do not much (like at Melbourne) or make it too easy like today. I'm not convinced by DRS at all. Would happily say bye bye to that.

The tyres I'm not sure about... it's quite fun to shake things up, but the teams are still learning how this is all working. Hmm.

Also, as the tyres are supposed to be 'like Canada' at every race, I wonder what they're actually going to do at Canada..!?

I wonder if Schumacher will give up on his 3rd season now... he seems really dejected and was just embarrassing today, hitting everything that came near him. And people seem to have finally got fed up with him. The longer he goes on like this, the more he will ruin the legacy he would have left. Obviously it's not taking his haul of championships away, but there will always be the 'but then he came back and...' addition to it. Britney is trouncing him. I don't know if he'll back down though. Hmmm. It just feels like having your granddad desperately trying to keep hanging out with the young cool kids. I just want to take him by the arm and lead him gently back to an armchair somewhere.

Something I read somewhere else and thought might be worth a discussion. What if refuelling were re-introduced, BUT a driver couldn't refuel and change tyres at the same stop?

If we kept the tyres we've got now there'd be no time on track because it'd be constant pitstops!

They had the refuelling no tyre change thing before didn't they? I'm not keen on it, it doesn't really add much IMO. The tyres just need to be a bit better and DRS needs tweaking and I think it might be there.

I agree - the tires just aren't doing it for me this year. I see no point in building tires that are designed to fall apart pretty much instantly. Ruins the whole racing aspect of the race for me. DRS was a bit on the riduclous side today, but I think in the last few races its been ok, but as they said they're still trying to work out where the best places are to set the system off.

Also, while it's great to see so much overtaking (which was lacking the last couple of seasons), have they perhaps made it a bit too easy with KERS and DRS?

Apparently Pirelli are a bit concerned about them making 4 stops this race, they think that's too many too. They'd rather races were 3 stoppers with some people opting for 2 instead. Which sounds more sensible. So I guess they'll have a think before Spain.

I guess we're just in that transition phase at the mo where folks are trying to figure out how the tyres work (Pirelli, the teams and the drivers) AND figure out how DRS works (as in, where on the circuit it should be to give them a push but not make it too easy) and we're just caught up in the middle of it. Maybe they should have sorted one out and then the other.

Anyways, I don't mind it all too much.

Vettel made me chuckle in the press conference today because JA asked Mark something about what it was like to have lots of long overtaking battles over several corners etc, and Vettel just looked totally surprised like "People were overtaking each other?!" It's amazing how far out in front he is, seemingly so effortlessly.

Fingers crossed for Karun this weekend. It's sad that he won't be in the 5Live commentary box, but great to see him being commented on! Trulli definitely hasn't been on it this year, even in Quali, so it makes sense to give KC a chance. Glad to hear Ant is here this weekend, his racing schedule should be tailored to avoid F1 weekends.

It doesn't happen often, but I'm very impressed with Lewis for this one. Good on him.

Phew. Had a rather heated discussion with Mrs Worm about this yesterday - seems that Lewis now agrees with me.
