FABFEB Itinerary and requests/suggestions

Lunch at Big Wok at 1:00
Duck race around 3 pm.
I'm thinking of RAOKing the Salvation Army hostel or somewhere similar this year instead of the Children's Hospital - ideas, comments etc welcome.
Evening at the Old Joint Stock - I've got the function room booked and a drinks waiter at no cost. I'm open to ideas here - I don't want anything too ambitious. Llast year's activities were great in theory but a tad over ambitious and fell spectacularly on their arse.
I'm not going to be precious here, I know last year was a disaster and I know some of you have probably made up your minds not to come based on last year. All I can say is that I hope the circumstances will be different this year and I hope we can get some good ideas together.
I'm thinking some kind of quiz (but nothing involving anything technical) and silly games - eg moustrap, buckaroo, table football, that kind of thing.
PLEASE HELP with some good ideas - I've done the basic stuff but the rest is up to you!
Thanks,
Rachel

oh, and i still expect to be based in birmingham despite working away more and more recently - plus having a new years resolution to head somewhere nearer home. that basically means that some mates and i might want to come along.

OK, looking at the numbers so far, I doubt if it would be worth having the function room at the Old Joint Stock. Even if the current roll call doubles, it'll be less than 30.
There is another possibilty:
http://www.padthai.co.uk/karaoke.html
It's a Thai restaurant ans Karaoke bar. Some of us went there a couple of years ago on the Friday and it was great fun. There is an option of having a private room but I think you have to have one of the set menus if you do that.
I've looked to see what else is on but there aren't many listings for February out yet. I shall keep looking! And any more ideas would be welcome.
Edit to add: Another possibilty is a comedy club like the Glee Club or Jongleurs.

I promise not to be competitive. Honest (read, not on your life).
OR... if some up up for more informal activity, what about board games? I'd bring one and charity shops tend to have them so we could do swaps!?

Which bus are you getting up there?
I'm getting the 2 o'clock from Victoria.
Oh ignore me. I'm going up on Friday and I guess you're going up on the Saturday. Just me and my iPod. And maybe a brekky roll.
