No that they really care, but surely you're not telling me that Vic Mark and Katie have been missed off again after their hard work each year with GGF?

That would be rather silly. Seeing as everyone keeps nominating them and all...

The fact that you get annoyed by this means more than being golded or silvered ever could.

However since my feeble efforts at gaining recognition over the last 5 years have failed, I'm going to throw my toys out of the pram and have nothing to do with GGF this year what so ever.

Congratulations everyone else.

Calm down - it's only a bit of fun, and really not worth getting angry about.

That's easy to say when you get silvered for just turning up to GGF. ;)

In all seriousness I really don't care, and neither do Vic or Katie.

That people turn up and enjoy themselves is enough for me, I have no need for a specky bloke to give me permission to prefix my name with a metal too soft to have any real use.

I've been misleading you Mark. This has been my whole reason for being a Joinee, the naive hope that one day Danny will notice that I exist and adorn me with a prefix.

That sounds painful. Is that what they did to Tilc in Sargate, that gold thing on his forhead?

Danny's not going to start doing that to us is he? :o

That's not an easy question to answer there are 78 others to chose from. That's assuming I'm limited to elemental metals, if I have to consider alloys as well it could take a lifetime to decide.

I love how stroppy I am before my morning Vicks. I swear I swore more this morning than I have in ages.

I am somewhat enamoured of GGF - it being the meet of initial meeting and, a year later, the meet of reuniting, so anyone who's ever organised one is a bright shining star in my eyes

It's just like 'Nam...

In all seriousness though, if people want people nominating, they just have to get in touch with any of the Platinum Joinees. As far as I know, they're all asked for input. So if someone who you feel is deserving hasn't been nominated then, at the very base of it, it's not really anyone's fault but your own. Not trying to cause waves or anything, but that's how it is.

Oh, and I was very surprised to be upgraded, but very apprecative. Thankyou.

In all seriousness if anyone wants my Golding then they are welcome to it. I never heard it getting announced and to be honest I never expected anything for what I did. Never expect anything and you shall never be disappointed. That's my opinion on the matter.

Actually Sean, for a 'Platinum' Joinee and someone who has been instrumental in the last three K's I've never once been consulted in the honors list. I was under the impression that Danny had a couple of people he consulted personally who know well the goings on throughout the year (regardless of 'rank') and that if you happen to bother him on the night enough he'll upgrade you to get you off his case. I may well be talking out of urn, and if so I sincerely apologise (as well as for any spelling mistakes, for I have been on the Champagne and Manhattans again) but this is really what I had thought.

All I can contribute is that I PM'ed Danny with a nomination, and that person was rewarded. However, it's entirely possible (or probable!) that a number of people had the idea of nominating that person and one of those is closer to Danny.

My understanding has always been very much as Emily says -- there are some people Danny particularly consults, but it's more because he knows they're quite well aware of the community, and connected to lots of the rest of us, rather than because of their !rank.

And as Del says, if you want to nominate somebody, let Danny know. He may be a very busy guy, but the nominations do seem to get noticed, eventually. With the exception of the extremely deserving Nottingham lot. But I blame Mark's chemistry lab for that. Metals are scared of going anywhere near in case he turns them into brooches made of lumps of purest green.

I was in the loo for my silvering and wasn't at K5 for my Gold. Bit peeved looking back on it.

Well done all those honoured.

The GGF Trio are chocolate joinees surely...or eggy joinees (but that doesn't sound as nice) for their Easter efforts?

To all those people who don't know me. I was being sarcastic. I have never given a poo about being a silver or whatever joinee. It was more acknowledging that Zena gets angry on our behalf (which is kind off nice and in my opinion more important).

Not out of turn at all Em (or, indeed, urn. But I imagine you're not sitting in a type of vase, so I'll just go with turn :))

I was making a general assumption of my own, really, based on the fact that the few people I know of that definitely have been consulted were Plats (not, technically, a spelling mistake ;)), and that it might be the same for all. It made sense in my little mind. But if other people are getting e-mailed noms taken seriously, then all the better.

And I wasn't trying to have a go at anyone before, more just making the point that if anyone is annoyed about perceived overlookings, then they can do something about it, as opposed to just being annoyed that it's not happened.

I don't see why - Steve got his silvering by just asking Danny at Join Me June, and he never gave it up. I reckon it's fine, and since then lots of people have been silvered or Golded in that way.

You'll always be shiny to me, anyway, sweetheart! :D

I asked. I asked in a special way apparently.

My golding I was nominated, but my silver I just asked him :D
The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

Never look down on someone unless you're helping them up.

Bless! I'd just rather it was that way, that's all. Kinda feel bad. Fun whilst it lasted but I have my drunken K6 video to make me giggle instead. Oh, and I can't change my name as I messed up the 30 day thing so I'm not clinging on!! :)

I'm sure everyone who has got a gold or silver (for whatever reason) deserve it. Keep them and stop being silly.

Plus if you hang around long enough, eventually you get to the zen stage of just one name with no accoutrements ;)

I'd still rather have THAT name. I secretly think to myself that's what MY 'P' stands for.

I've still not forgotten.... I was in the pub on my own for nigh on 20 minutes whilst you nattered away to Danny....

Victoria wasn't even barmaiding that night so their were no distractions
