OK folks, it's time to blow away those post-Karmageddon blues and look forward to the next biggie:

FABFEB FOUR!

Saturday 7th February 2009

Things to look forward to (in brief):

  • All you can eat Chinese lunch for 6 quid!
  • A duck race which inevitably involves people wading around on the steps of the fountain to retrieve ducks and/or sabotage the race
  • A nice warm feel-good glow after donating a heap of toys and games to the Children's Hospital (I may re-think this and see if there's a hostel or something in town we could take them to instead - the hopspital is a very worthy cause but it's very hight profile and already gets lots of donations. I shall investigate.)
  • Pubbage!
  • Quizzage! (I shall go back to the old-school pen and paper method for this one.)

So, don't be a bore, come to FABFEB FOUR!

As I sit here waiting to depart for K:VI I can quite honestly say you're right...I'm ready for the next one now please!

No-can-do on hospitalyness for me (for I am afraid, although shop for toys I can!) but count me in work dependent. Heck, I'm the boss! Count me in!

Mahvellous.

If we do the hospital, it's only a few of us anyway - we jut go and drop them off. The rest can partake of a nice cup of tea and a sit down. Perhaps with some cake too.

Would LOVE to do this (the first one was excellent!), but it's a couple of days after we get back from holiday, so probably not.

Regarding the hospital/hostel decision -- although it would of course mean more work to organise, I wonder if we could pick a couple of places? That way everyone could be involved, rather than having only some go in order to avoid crowding, as I seem to remember we had to do with the hospital.

Then we could perhaps do the donating in teams, not unlike the RAoK challenges I suppose...

Sounds like a good one K!

I shall try and find out some places that are reasonably central. I know there's a soup kitchen somewhere.

This could be a possibility.... both have to check with work and there is something in January that I need to await the answer of before I can commit money to the early part of the year (or in fact the whole year)... If everything works out as planned and then this is a definite maybe...

I remember there being a Salvation Army place in the centre of town that's a homeless shelter and Crisis Birmingham have always been good in helping families....
Let me apologise now if I hurt anyone's e-feelings.

Good idea, as it's going to be one of the first meets of the new year!

I expect it'll need it's own section in due course, but pinned for now. :)

Again, something has gona bloody f*cking wrong and I havent got a penny until the 18th. I've had to bail somebody out AGAIN with the only £100 i had left so i'm not gonna make it. Amazingly pissed off right now coz I had carefully planned and budgited every single penny I had left until the 18th but somebody has destroyed it.

Sorry guys.
