Hi,

I've been meaning to come along to a meet for a couple of years now but the dates never seem to coincide .... the meets never seem to be on the weekends I don't have my son ... and I've decided I don't want to miss this one so I'm bringing him along and basically I would like to know if anyone out there has done such a silly thing before. Am I letting myself in for a complete nightmare? (he's 5) Will there be other kids there?

I would love to come to one of these legendary meets ... but won't if this board seem to think its a bad idea .....

Your son will have a whale of a time. I have taken numerous children, as I'm a foster carer and my children keep changing, to meets (obviously being selective, not the ones that are just in the pub) and they always absolutely love it.

I recently had a child for 2 weeks for holiday cover for other carers. I took her to blackpool illuminations, Imax 3D, and other things I dont' really remember now. when I took her back to her usual carers what did she immediately start telling them about?

going to liverpool for the join me halloween meet!
If you hear of something bad happening in Halifax... I did it!

That's a good point actually - any kids there will actually be among the more mature attendees!

Festive chocolaty goodness, chocolate santas, miniature boxes of celebrations, roses etc etc.

I normally go to Wilkinsons and get a bag full of stuff to hand out. Oh, and Christmas cards too...it's nice to give out cards with a happy message inside, maybe sealed with a join me sticker or 2 :)
