Well, i should be coming down on the Friday afternoon on the train, and i was wondering if anyone knew any cheap places to stay or if i could be cheeky and kip on someones sofa on the friday and/or saturday? :)
I've looked at a few places, but since i'm 16 it seems not many places will let me stay without an adult there as well.
Anyway, any help would be great, and I'll look forward to seeing you all there!

~hugs~

Davy, I think you may find this accounts for the lack of response ...

http://www.joineefor...showtopic=30883

This is a lesson that has been learned by experience. If you are under 18 it is very unlikely anyone is going to offer you a place to stay on your own.

And that is no critisism or accusation

The main march is under 16s ok and the pub should be fine with the 16& 17 crowd as long as you're not drinking white lightning or vodka out of paper bags.-And you'll see that everyone will be awesome and ace and fill you with sugar so you run round in circles until you fall down, puke or fall down and puke.

It is just that the night WILL (and this is a fact) end with debauchery in a night club (which aint under 18s friendly, let alone under 16s friendly alas) and we have had problems with letting people crash at houses when they aren't with legal guardians and that...

It is a load of poopy poop poop rubbish, but it is for the ease and safety of everyone (hey we could all be mass murdering psychos trying to lure you into the big city for all you know.... I mean we're not - Except Toby Freshmaker - but we COULD be. But we're not.)

Is there no one at your end that can come with you? Either a more adultier friend or a parent. Joinees are always dragging their parents along so we can convince and coerce them into joining. I bought my dad once. He thought we were all mad. And then Biddle got rugby tackled by Jamie Rothwell in order to win a cocktail.

Sorry I can't be any more help than that Mr Davy sir, but hopefully you see why we have to take this stance with it all

Ahhh, would that be K3 by any chance? I believe that happened shortly after Biddle dropped his trousers to show me his hernia scar, which was shortly after I met him for the first time.

I'm in my 30s and I was scared.

Oh so THAT's what he was showing me in the lift at the Old Joint Stock.

No that was a special treat for the waiter wasn't it. By that point I had learned that it is a regular occurance.

hehe. :)
i can easily see why this sort of stance has to be taken, and i'm glad it is.
well there isnt anyone here that would be able to come even if they wanted unfortunately, and i dont really know too many adulty type people. Guess it'll just be me!
i wasnt planning on drinking any alcohol anyway, and i guess i'll risk meeting up with a bunch of mass murdering psychos, it'd be rather pleasant company compared with some of the people i know.
Still, i wont be worrying about not having anywhere to stay for at least 2 weeks, and i'm sure something will crop up before then, i'm pretty optimistic!
:)

Hi Davy,

Just so that you know, I wrote the original of that, after a fairly awkward incident had affected quite a few people at a then-recent meet, and made us think carefully about this. And it was indeed people under 16 that we had in mind.

Obviously the age limits of individual venues (pubs, clubs, and so on) are out of our control, so what Tim said still applies.

Anyway, I'm glad you're still coming, and I'm sure you'll have a great time :)
