So, like last year we have been generously offered the exclusive use of a venue for post-march fnu. The venue has also very kindly offered to pay for the security staff, who we would usually be obliged to pay (a lot) for, so do be even nicer to them!

Anyway, like last year we have a minimum spend to meet and need to supply a deposit to guarantee we will turn up. If the minimum spend is not met, or if we trash the joint we will lose the deposit. Otherwise it will be returned to us after the event.

So, I need to find donors who are able to offer a contribution towards the deposit. Please bear in mind that you may lose the deposit, however, if the deposit comes back to us I’m happy either to refund your share of the deposit to you, or add your share to the charity pot, whichever you prefer.

I should add that the minimum spend is much higher than last year (because the venue is bigger and drinks etc. are cheaper) as well as the deposit, so I’m less convinced that we will get all of the deposit back. I know this is far from ideal because we’d all love for the deposit to go into the charity pot, but the reality is that I’ve spent six months looking for a venue that meets our needs and this is the most affordable venue that meets them.
