Ok - my accommodation plans fell through, so looked at all the info above (Thanks Matt
),
Slight problem though - my knowledge of london is rubbish don't know where we're meeting, don't know where the hotels/hostels are in relation to places i need to go to... Can anyone help a dumbass?? Nearish a tube station would also be useful as probs flying into and out of stansted. Thank you!! x x x

We're likely to do the "start of the day" meeting very near Piccadilly Circus tube. The venue is fairly close by, Oxford Circus tube is most convenient.
I don't know much about the Generator personally as I've never stayed there, but I'm sure someone will chip in on that.
Otherwise, if you wanted to spend "hotel" amounts of money, I'm personally a fan of the Strand Palace Hotel (which is only a few minutes walk away from both Charing Cross and Covent Garden tube stations) - and have already booked my room there for the K6 weekend. It's not cheap, but it's very well-located and entirely pleasant enough. There's a McD's that's open till-very-late, and a Spar or something which is also open at Silly O'Clock (and has a hot food counter), between Charing Cross tube and the hotel. If you don't mind walking, it's within entirely reasonable walking distance of both the start-point and the evening venue. It's definitely bookable through Expedia, probably also through Hotels.com, both via the shopping site
