Not looking good at the moment folks...

BBC says 17 degrees and showers with a UV index of only 4.
Met Office is saying much the same.

Can we all cross our fingers for this low to move across Britain quicker than anticipated leaving behind some glorious sunny weather for the weekend please?

Fingers crossed.

Though beach in the rain does sound strangely fun...

Also, it seems whenever I go to Brighton, it rains. Heavily...

Am I a bad omen?

Hoorah!

I know Anna will also be keeping her fingers crossed too She'll also probably be really excited by the first post as it's about the weather in her sort of terminology (low, UV etc.). That crazy geography studying girlfriend of mine...

Ohhh weather I hope it won't be too bad

I agree - there's a predicted mixed pressure front I hope it moves quickly across and brings about nice warm winds!

predicited light showers and south-westerly winds which bodes well. Pressure is 1010 on saturday

But it can go any which way to be honest! *crossing fingers and toes!*

You know what - we COULD get lucky. Looking at the satellite pictures, there could be a little breakup of cloud, because it's definite SHOWER clouds on saturday. Saturday night the full scale rain clouds move in and Sunday will be drenched, but Saturday...well it oculd be ok.

*crosses everything*

Woop! It's now saying Sunny and 19 degrees... By tomorrow I'm guessing it will say not a cloud in the sky and 24 degrees. That would be awesome ;)

Don't trust the BBC weather. Ever. they lie regularly.

http://www.metcheck.com is far more reliable.

Yarr, that it be! It be turnin' up in the pillage booty all the bleedin' time. Didn't know what to do with it until now...

(...although, doesn't Johnny look better when it starts to run? A little dishevelled suits the modern pirate...)

thank the lord, as dishevelled may very well be the order of the day (for me at least. None of the prim and proper pirating for me, oh no).

Also, can't find my pirate boots. VERY irritating! I know bare feet were the order of the day on deck back in ye olde times, but the streets of Brighton are a little... yuck.

I have 21st century pirate boots. I call them 'shoes'...

I'm afraid I'm going to be not very pirated out. Especially compared to Anna who has put in a lot of effort apparently.

I might find a hat. A hat is costume.

and then i'll have got to 'walk in another man's shoes'. ^_^

Pirates had boots with kitten heels, non? Well, my pirate is going to.

Now, for the million dollar question: bring the light sabre and be a 'space pirate', or stick to the classic choice of weapon: plastic cutlas?

Bring the light sabre, so long as you're prepared to do battle with the Space Cowboy.

Just in case he should turn up, that is. I'm thinking it might be Steve, depending on what hat he gets...

Weather is looking better than it has been predicting all week on the Met Office. Those little grey clouds are now white and the chance of rain has decreased!

Cannot cannot wait to get there. Not sure whether I should wear the outfit down or change into it once we get there *hmm* might go half and half!
