We usually start around Golden Square (That's near Piccadilly Circus) and then RAoK march up Regent Street onto Oxford Street, then onto a pub around there. Usually done whenever you feel you need to leave; could be 9, 10 or long into the night

Speaking of K:VI, I'm preparing something for the raffle. If all goes to plan, it should be quite nice to behold.

It is indeed as well as that. :)

With the blanket, I imagine mine will be the sqaure you won't want to look at if you have a headache. Orange isn't a soothing colour...

It sounds like a really cool plan. I only know as I need to do some recon for the plan. :ninja:

End Venue is to be confirmed and it is likely that the start of the march will also involve an interesting twist this year. Watch this space.

Rest assured it will be central though and the Venue will be normal pub kicking out time. There is often a clubbing contingent though afterwards.

If anyone has anything they'd like to donate to the raffle or the like, please let me know as soon as they know! Thanking you kindly.

Yay! Borderline! Nose shouting. Night buses. A distinct lack of dignity.

Awesome.

I am GOING to make it to the club this year!! Although I did quite like my drunken late night romantic meal last year :)

Jixie will certainly be in attendance and in a particularly exuberant manner after an especially poor showing at join meets and cockage so far this year. Blame jobs and Europe for that. We've killed the jobs though. Ha!

Can we do somewhere else apart from Borderline this year tho, it's getting samey now tbh imho ilt

I hope we get the house and that our house guests are happy to go to club with us (oh yes, we have not yet got a house but we have already invited house guests - get in!) as I do hope to show no dignity in a new and exciting way on the night bus this year...

You're going to remove more clothes on the bus then?

I like our house guest list so far. I reckon we could get possibly 1 or 2 more though.

The problem with going clubbing somewhere else is that there really aren't that many other choices in central:

The Roxy - Is too small for an influx of 20-30 people all in one group.
Metro - Equally small, if not smaller.
Kaleidoscope - Is VERY young. Cheap, but full of students, which can get boring &/or make the group of "oldies" look very sad indeed.
SHUNT - A little too expensive for most & LONG queues.
G-A-Y - Is gay. So not everyones cup of raspberry tea.
Sin City - Is metal. So not everyones cup of... lead.

All the other little clubs I know of are either very expensive, very niche, require advance booking or a combination of all three.

Borderline, while not the best club in the world, caters to the majority & is always fairly fun.

Any other suggestions, though?

If only Frog was still around...

I say we stick with Borderline as the main clubbing place. It does the job, which it seems is rare in London. Plus I really don't want to go to Metro; it's an awful little place.

Though Kaleidescope could challenege if I hear good reports of it. Or I go and like it.

Go & find out. It's cheap. Dead cheap if you have ANY valid NUS. So even if you aren't keen it will have cost you a pittance. It's swings & roundabouts in there to be honest, more so than most clubs I've found.

Indeed, I miss Frog. Nice & big & relatively cheap. The bulk of the crowd did seem to get progressively younger though. Or maybe Iw as getting older faster than I realised. When I was 18 it was awesome & I hear it was from the start. Went steadily downhill over it's last few years though.

Collide-a-scope used to be *great*. It tailed off a bit, but I *do* like it, and if you get tired of hurling yourself about it has seats with great views across the thames. It IS full of students (given that it's in Kings College Union), but as long as you don't mind being older than the majority it's fine. It's also ver cheap for drinks (or was).

We have been there post meet before (possibly the last Raymond Price pubcrawl? Can't really remember), but other than that haven't been in even more years (apart from gigs).

Borderline would probably still get my vote though.

As were the rest of the people on the top deck. Who I later realised were all male.

And I think I rescued a shred of dignity. I think I'll wear stockings this year* Much easier to remove and put on when usig public transport.

Which shred?

I'm going to wear clothes again. That's always a good outfit. And definitely the hat again. I miss wearing the orange hat. Ooo, or maybe I'll wear a *new* hat... Ooo, the possibilities are endless!

This will be a ticketed event, much like last year, but everyone is welcome to tickets for friends and other taggers-alongers.

If we manage to do it anything like last year's setup, you'll just have to get them off the website and print them out beforehand. The tickets were free last time, and as far as I know will be free again - it just makes it easier for us to control the door.

It is sorta-it's called Push now. Sahil Dj's very regularly I do believe.

There's always the Boomsbury Bowling Alley which does various club nights on a saturday.

That's a point. But then it is quite tiny. Depends how many people plan on clubbing really. Wouldn't mind a bowl either, though. Even if it is hideously expensive.

Will have to check out Push.

While I hate the idea of missing a Karmageddon, it's possible that I won't be there. I could be in America again, or possibly just saving because I'll have to go to America shortly afterwards. I'll do what I can, but...it's a maybe from me.

Roll-call time yet? Or too early? :)

Too early, I reckon. At this stage lots of peole will not know what they are doing and you'll get loads of nos that turn into yay! I can make it after alls, and loads of yeses that end up having to pull out. Having said that, I shall surely be there with the blanket of excellence! Mum White x

I have a wedding (well, technically a civil partnership) to go to in Rugby that day.
*sigh* I don't want to miss the fun :(

although technically... it's only the evening I've now been invited for. Reckon I could do both? LOL!

Goodness me, after a fallow year (well, a holiday), I will definitely be making a return to Karmageddon meets! I've been away too long. Nobody will know who I am anymore, or appreciate the yoda pen.
Crikey, this means it was a year and a half ago that Danny said he'd take me bowling in Prague. Still waiting for that ticket Mr W!

It's *never* too early for a roll-call...the moosling around and people being in and not in and the maybes and the yesses and the noes and all make it even more fun! That said, I can see it turning into a mammoth thread of madness....

...which sounds fun!!

For this year's Karmageddon I shall mostly be looking forward to having a flat to return to which isn't a building site! Whoop! :D Oh, and all the other cool stuff that happens and seeing folk ;)

I have made notes in my work calendar & cleared the day just to be sure; this should be good

You will get a ticket no problem, so start polishing your bells, as it were.

I will definitely polish my bells but as I am staunchly against campanology (for very good personal and professional reasosn) I shan't be ringing them on the day.
