Well, before Saturday's match, team south were sitting pretty at the top of the table with a 3 point margin and healthy goal difference:

But after The Mighty Team North's excellent performance and all of the goals they put away, the two teams are even on points, with the south having just a slightly better goal difference.

Without a doubt we'll see the courageous and powerful North steam their way to the top of the table come April 2009.

It's based on the last 4 year's results.

First column is league position.

Second column is team name.

PL is number of games played.

W is games won.

D is games drawn.

L is games lost.

F is total goals scored.

A is total goals conceded.

GD goal difference, which is goals conceded subtracted from goals scored.

As both teams have 2 wins, and there 6 points (3 per win), team south stay top as their goal difference is better.

That help?

Um, that's wrong, Tom.

I don't know what the score in the first year was, but the last three results are now:

North 5-4 South (AET)
North 2-3 South
North 4-1 South

So Team North had scored at least 7 before this year's match, and now have scored at least 11.

I'm pretty certain the first year was North 1 - 0 South
The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

Never look down on someone unless you're helping them up.

Jamin' was adamant the first year was 6-1 to the south, and the second year was 3-2 in our favour, but I did think it was 5-4 too. Can anyone confirm this?

It was:

GGF2: 5-1 to the South
GGF3: 3-2 to the North (AET)
GGF4: 3-2 to the South
GGF5: 4-1 to the North

I've heard 6 1 to the south for the first game.

the second game was definitely 5 4.

From the other thread:

It was 5-4 in 2006, Tom. Team South scored first, Rem (I think) equalised, then I put us 2-1 up before a late equaliser for South. Then South took the lead twice in extra time before eventually a random we'd picked up in the pub the night before grabbed a winner in the dying seconds.
