Do you ever find things left behind in second-hand books you've bought?  I've found receipts, library receipts from when somebody checked it out of the library, bookmarks from the store it was bought (I assume), photographs, reminders and phone numbers, boarding passes....
Today, I found two uncashed cheques totaling $45!  Difficulty: they're from late 1974/early 1975 and not made out to me .  I think both banks are out of business now, or swallowed up by bigger fish, too.  Still, they're perfectly preserved examples of cheques from 40+ years ago.

Today's find:  a laminated "bookmark" of three same-sized postage stamps from Jugoslavija.  Very nice-looking stamps, but two have some barely noticeable oily stains.
Still-lifes of flowers and fruit scenes.
