Edit:
As far as I know, currently, as of the 15th March, we've decided the 12th July.
That is all.

Thought I'd get a date in first. As summer term ends on Wednesday 23rd July, and it's always nicer for the teachers if it's the Saturday after term beaks up, rather than the one before.

Of course, I'm also predicting that whatever is thought to have been decided at this stage turns out not to be, as someone always comes along and changes everyone's mind.

But I'm suggesting the 26th anyway.

Because it suits me.

Yeah, whatever.

Other than the date I expect nothing else to be planned for a very long time. Except that I'm staying at Becky's, most likely.

[EDIT: I've made the topic title suggest the 12th rather than the 26th so that the thread is less likely to spread confusion to the casual piratical reader. - CK]

Come hell or high water, I will be there. I didn't make it last year or the year before. I really will make the effort to go.

19th of July
26th is at the end of the month and those that get paid monthly will be a full month down on money.
At least the 19th is a bit closer to a pay day just gone, if you see my point, and i'm sure that you do :-)

Unless you're me. I get paid on 21st. Last year I got paid on 26th. I do not see your point.

I had to vote for the 19th, seeing as on the 26th I shall be in the middle of playing robbers in a secret garden party up in cambridgeshire.

BRIGHTON WILL BE, AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN, ON THE SECOND WEEKEND OF JULY, WHICH IS THE 12TH.

Just so everyone knows.

There was one exception, for the 24peaks Challenge. But otherwise there's no need to change it.

12th would be excellent for me, it is the only weekend over the summer i actually have off due to rubbish operations at work regarding sports and kids being a pain in the ass.

Ohhhh, the 12th would be great for me!

Definatley can't do the 19th and the 26th is kinda unlikely as I'll have spent a sleepless week doing volunteeer camping charity stuff. Plus the charity stuff won't even finish until noon on the 26th and it's in surrey. So I'm doubtful on the 26th.

Elliott, It's been on the second weekend of July once, two years ago. It wasn't last year, and it wasn't three years ago. It may have been the year before that though. It's usually been the third or fourth weekend.

Well, I really don't need to give an opinion, as I will inevitably be abroad as appears to be tradition. So for the sake of argument, Phil can have my vote.

Hahahahahha

this basically translates to

Brighton has always been on the second week of July - until I couldn't go. Then I made them change. But I can go this year. So #!$& the lot of you... its the 12th..... unless that clashes with the Chap Olympics

Biddle is such a toss pot

yeah Brighton.... I'll probably be there

Unless I go to secret garden party *pouty eye fluttering directed to Siobhan*

Or... you know.... I find some of those sexy lady boys. Then Kneller and Steve and I will go down an alley with them and be proper old school.

It was two, three & four years ago. But not last year. I distincly remember because July 12th is my birthday & I've always celebrated it in Brighton.

I voted in the poll before 12th was an option (becasue there's a small chance I can make the 26th rather than the no chance for 19th).

So take one poll off 26th and add it to 12th in you heads please!

Yay for the Meekster!

And Michelle - I'd go for the 5th too! (not only does it mean you can come, but it's also my birthday.)

But as Biddle seems to get what Biddle wants, it looks like the 12th. Or we could call a mutiny?

12th because (following on from Richard's logic) it is earlier in the month, therefore I will more likely be able to afford the train fare). Woot.

Happy birthday Elliot, WAY in advance (if I forget on the day).

Voted 12th because Inverness is on the 3rd of August and you're all going there this year (yes, you are, aren't you) and will need time to recharge your piggy banks.

No. Your allowed "Plyms" (Plymouth Gin's pimms-a-like).

Hmmmm. Plyms eh? Not seen that one. And I like Plynouth Gin so it's bound to be nice.

I did try another Pimms-a-like once but it just wasn't the same. I felt dirty afterwards - understandable really, considering I had been unfaithful and strayed from a lifelong loyal partner and soulmate.

Elliot has effectively shot himself in the foot by being so stroppy about the 12th as it's the only week in Jluy I DEFINITELY can't go as it's our Free Festival at work and I will be working Friday-Sunday.

So, whilst shooting yourself in the foot is undoubtedly a pirate-y action I will not be there to see he doesn't go into the sea with his phone this year. Volunteers to look after it for him?

*I won't encourage him at all. No. Would I do that. Just for my own ammusement...

Can I please confirm that this will be the 12th? It's RIGHT before payday for me which is kind of sucky...but that's ok!

I need to book a hotel fairly soonish in order to get a good deal for the whole weekend - and Jamie will need to see if he can get the friday off work or whether we'll have to come down late at night.

So to it people - I want a confirmation.
