This year's charidee will be the Birmingham Children's Hospital. Our efforts will be twofold:

1) Donations of toys, books, games, DVDs, etc, which we''ll take along on the day. They must be new and in the original packaging. Soft toys are not allowed, nor are foods. We had a great collection last year and it was very well received. Any DVDs or computer games must be U or PG to be on the safe side.

2) There will be a GRAND RAFFLE AND AUCTION OF PROMISES AND TALENTS in the evening, at the Old Joint Stock. Money raised from this will go to the hodpital's Red Ballon Appeal.

How can you help? Well, bring along a gift for the hospital (not wrapped) and a group of us will take the gifts along.

Secondly, for teh Raflle/Auction you can offer a service, skill or talent (come on, don't be modest!) for the benefit of another joinee. It could be something grand like the Jamins' wonderful picnic, or something daft like "I promise to go to the bar all evening for (the winning joinee)" I

It could be something to do on the day, or something afterwards. You don't have to be going to FABFEB to offer something.

The idea of doing both a raffle and an auction is to give more people the chance to take part and win something. Tickets will be priced at just £1 each to make it accessible to everyone. But the best promises will be reserved for the auction.

I've already had a couple of tremendous offers from Twinkle and Dave - thank you very much! Keep them coming folks! And spread the word to folk who aren't coming to FABFEB too (e.g. in The Cock). The poor souls. At least if they're not coming they can still get involved.

Bump!

Now that the festive season is nearly over you need something else to bring that warm fuzzy glow. So get down to Woolies sale and get something for the childrens hospital!

And think of something you can do which other joinees would like. (No, not that.) We need as many promises for the auction/raffle as we can get. And yes, I have already done a Toby-ism. It will be called the Auffle.

It's going to be a brilliant weekend anyway, and with your help it can be even better!

Let me know what you can do. If you want to keep it a surprise til the event itself, PM me.
Thanking you muchly.

I feel that the world missed out last time... ;)

We can try. I remember we got ditched last year in favour of bird flu. A shame really, because footage of a race involving rubber ducks would have made a nice little "and finally . . ."number.

I'll see if I can did out the press releases I sent last year and send them again. Can't be arsed editing them except the dates. As if they ever read the things anyway.

Right, I'll get onto that now.

I'll throw in Danny's recent appearance on celeb mastermind too. I haven't seen it yet. How did he do?

Saw it today on catch up. I was shouting at him. Bless him he did well. Still worthy of a name drop in the background story for the press release methinks.

He is surely the world's leading expert on Ghostbusters, and if that's not worth a mention, then nothing is.

And I did love the irony of a rubber duck story being dropped due to bird flu.....!

Now it looks like I'm coming, what would you like for the raffle? I'd also like to offer myself (in a non-rude way) for the auction. I don't know what to offer by way of a skill though (Jack of all trades, master of non as my Mummy says). Any requests? I can knit, sew, bake, paint nails really neatly, make greetings cards and other crafty things, and crochet a bit.

Although I love the word smorgesbord, I worry people will think I'm just big headed! Perhaps we can just say people can use me as they will. They know not to be rude (if they're not scared of Ben, they'll be afraid of me).
