FLYING
You can fly to Dublin airport from many UK airports with Ryanair Aer Lingus and BMI Baby(Heathrow only)
TRAIN OR COACH
You can get combined rail/ferry tickets Sail & Rail or combined coach/ferry tickets Eurolines
FERRY
If you wish to travel by ferry, either as a foot passenger or by car, there's Irish Ferries Stena Line - both from Holyhead. Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire are easy to get to from the City, although Dublin Port is nearer and quicker. And Norfolk Line from Liverpool.
The Holyhead routes take about 3h 15 on the slow ships, 1h 40 on the fast one. The Liverpool one is an overnight or all-day trip that takes 8h but does have meals included (and a cabin on the night trip)
