Brighton & Hove coaches used to be the cheapest way, running from Victoria coach station
But in these days of Megabus & Megatrain, I couldn't say for sure...

The EASIEST way is to get the train down. If you really are skint, though, then hitchhiking probably is your best bet - get yourself on the A23 somewhere.

Otherwise... are there no joinees driving down who you can get a lift from?
If you can get to Tunbridge Wells I can take you from there. That might save you between a fiver and a tenner.

Go up to strangers in a pub looking sad and dejected and when they ask what's up tell them that your car's broken down and it's been taken in for repair and you don't have enough money to get home to Cornwall. The first sucker to cough up the £38 has paid for your ticket and a couple of rounds of drinks. Voila!
It doesn't necessarily make you a bad person.

The cheapest way is to get the last train (12:30) with Tim & I on Friday night when the barriers are all open thus making the entire journey for free. Have the £18 or whatever it is in your pocket in case of the EXTREMELY UNLIKELY event of a guard at that time of night & then just buy a single on your way back for about £11.

Except you won't be Elliot. Because you and Tim and I will already be in Brighton for the Misty's gig on Friday night.

[Edit: Tim told me it was in Brighton. But now Toby's telling me it's in London. I am confused.]

I thought we'd already decided, I was putting on my bikini early and you were hiding in the bushes while we hitched.

or was that just a drunken suggestion.
