As many of you will know, it is the custom as this most prestigious of events for myself and 'Jamin to provide a many and varied picnic for all you hungry pirates on the beach. This year will be no exception, and we intend to bring along all the usual treats.

Please all feel free to bring along your own contributions to add to the spread, should you wish. Things that usually complement our menu are:

Fruit
Crisps
Biscuits
Dip-type-things

and of course,

Booze.

Could I also add that anyone who is local/driving/isn't carrying much would be very welcome to bring some sort of table.

I shall bring some element of cake I suspect. And crisps. And Morgans Spice.
The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

If i make it (50:%0 at this stage)

with me will be the following

1) Much whiskey
2) Some Rumi got for my birthday - seemed appropriate
3) Champagne - this is now implied at any attendance by me for all future threads
4) a 22foot long subway.

(ok 4) may be pushing it - i only have so many arms after all!)

hehe

do i need to be dressed for the occasion - only pirate outfit may proove difficult whilst not in the country.....

thoughts on this please!

I should point out that as the judge of the dressing up comp, and as a lover of the champs, it is worth you trying even a little as you will be in with a chance. Not that I'm one to be bought or anything like that. It's just that I'm a pro champagne drinker, that's all.

I love you Mum. A rum tasting. What a fantastic idea.

Just a heads up to any picnicers- do we think the 30ish people in the roll call is a safe number to cater for?

A rum tasting there shall be! This came out of some *serious* discussion last night over the relative merits of Jamaican, Cuban and Barbados rum. As we only had Jamaican to hand, we just drank it in copious quantities! (hence my atrocious stumbling through the forum at silly o'clock last night. I hardly dare to look and see what I might have posted elsewhere  ) Mum White.

I loved seeing tipsy Mum White posts last night, especially when the forum is usually dead...and it's middle o' the evening for me. Sounds like you had a good night. :)

Sorry, forgot to say above that I will also bring a big load of fruit. That's healthy, right? So it won't matter too much about the rum! Mum White.

  We certainly did! We had a barbeque, fundraising for Sarah's Vietnam trip and as Andy and loads of his mates are all home from uni, it was a large and merry gathering! (raised £105 for Sarah, too!) Mum White.x
