As per tradition, there will be a fancy dress competition on the beach during the day. The theme shall be 'Piratical'.

Timmy intends to join in the fun/ competitiveness this year so has handed the responsibility to me to judge the hopeful candidates. As such, I hereby issue the rules and warn ye that cheats will be made to walk the plank.

1. All costumes must be of a piratical theme.

2. All costumes should be worn from the beginning of the meet at the pier, and at least until the competition has been judged.

3. Candidates should make/ find/ put together their outfits themselves, with no help from parents or other grown ups.

4. Lewd, vulgar, tasteless and/or disgraceful costumes will be disqualified.

5. Extra marks will be given for period detailing, authenticity and historical accuracy.

6. The judge's decision is final. And woe betide anyone who questions her! (Although she probably will need help!)

I have confirmation that the current champion, Joinee Alexander, will be in attendance to defend his title and to bring along the coveted trophy, otherwise known as "Dougary Le Soire".

Good luck me hearties, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Debenhams
I don't know if they taught you this in the land of fairies and puppy dog tails where you obviously, if not grew up, then at least spent most of your summers, but you're in the real world now! N'kay?

Don't be silly. They only have 20th Century onwards. You need to go to Liberty.
