In Lightroom right now over on the other monitor !

Yes, my desk is creaking. Scotty kindly brought home a ridiculous 22" monitor his work were disposing of, and oh. my. word. does it make photo editing fun.

It's also pretty neat for watching Battlestar Galactica ;)

But yes, another set of photos are on their way, tonight.

I've been a bit distracted by a gorgeous, tiny, bright green damsel fly which has come into my room. There was one in my gran's house in Edinburgh just after she died, and this is the only other one I've *ever* seen, and it's found its way into my room through a small open window, so I'm considering it to be some sort of fairy messenger type critter (I know, I know) and talking to it.

And wondering if I have anything it might like to eat from a tiny silver dish.

Yes, I've finally lost it. Must be something to do with the shock of joining a gym today.

EDIT: This was a quick reply to Morpheus, before he'd managed to get some pics up while I was typing... still pretty much applies though. Oh, and I bloody love that blue clubbing one :)

Is the problem just waiting while it uploads, or is it "where to put it"? If it's the uploading part, you could burn it onto a CD and send that to somebody whose broadband has fast uploading.

As for storage, I'd suggest uploading the photos at a reasonable, but not multi-megapixels, resolution. You can get a program like irfanview to reduce them all in one "batch". Anybody who'd like the full resolution ones - maybe for printing - can ask you for the ones they'd like. Somewhere like flickr, which is my favourite, will give you loads of space anyway.

As for the video, Matt recently needed to put up the video from a Brighton meet. It's better than YouTube quality, so we've put it on my server (it's here, by the way.) If you want to keep the quality better than YouTube, I'm happy to host your video too - I'll be putting Nat's football video up once I've got the tape too. Just let me know if you wanna do that. :)

Cool,

so in summary
1) No not the speed (i've got 10mb) it's the space required to store
2) I'll need to edit them at the weekend which is fine as i could do with a distraction to lower the resolutions
3) I'll plonk the video up on your server :-) no sweat :-) - though i may add to YouTube too for ease of use! :-)

cheers that man - and sort me out some dates on a PM for the whisky run! :-)

You look gawgeous, you just don't see it, which is a good thing.

Cos otherwise you'd have a big head.

And then you'd look all out of proportion.

i've got google picasa and picasa web, if you upload your photos from picasa, it automatically scales and resizes them for you. and you get a gig free storage, all you need is a gmail account.

i have gmail invites if you dont have one

edit: i originally put 250 meg, which it was but its now a gig, i love google

also, i have about 250ish photos up there and with the picasa resizing they only take up 51 meg

There's a LOVELY photo of Dot and Del in there.

On flickr, people can set the copyright status they have assigned to their pics, so you can have a look and see what they've authorised.

But in practice, if it's a print-out for your own personal use, where's the harm anyway? If somebody chooses to put a photo on the web, they really need to expect that it might be saved, printed, and even edited by absolutely anyone; that's the nature of the beast.

Hurrah!

As always, some amazing shots there from Mr G. This was the set I really wanted to see, and I was not disappointed.

If nothing else, it confirms that I exist, and was definately there - judging from most people photos I was beginning to think it was all a dream :)

No shots of my amazing prowess on the football field, more of my amazing gut, but I did quite like this one:

and this one, even if it does look a bit 'yo ho ho - I spy pirates!' :

my favourites however, have to be the pictures which I subtitle :
