Although an increased protein intake can help build muscle,  t genix  all too many people jack their consumption up sky-high the moment they start their muscle-building routine. Often, this increases caloric intake and can lead to more fat gain. Increase protein intake slowly so your body can transform it into muscle well. In each workout, train the opposing muscles. For example, work out your chest and back together, and your hamstrings and quads together. By doing this, you can allow one muscle to relax while you are working on the other one. This method is also more efficient and allows you to increase your intensity since your workout is shorter. Creating a schedule for your program can allow you to maximize your muscle building potential and prevent injury. Only push yourself to your limits twice a week early on, increasing the intensity and frequency of your workouts as your strength and endurance improves. Make your short-term goals achievable. Make small goals to help you prevent injury and get the most from your workouts. Once you have established a baseline strength, you should strive for modest improvements throughout your regimen. In some cases, you may do better than you expected. When this happens, your motivation will increase dramatically, and you will be eager to hit the gym next time. This will speed up muscle recovery time and prevent your muscles from being burned during your workout. Never rely on steroids to build muscle mass. Steroids have been shown to inhibit the body's ability to produce natural hormones. There is also evidence that steroids do damage to the liver, reduce the amounts of good cholesterol, and can cause the development of breast tissue in men. Steroids also cause "roid rage" and are a cause for acne. In other words, the disadvantages of steroid use far outweigh the benefits. Eat healthy fats when you're on a diet where you want to gain muscle. They serve as a type of joint lubrication and increase the body's testosterone. This means that the body gains muscle mass more effectively. Saturated fats, however, should be avoided because of heart issues.
