I seriously suggest you get your ears around Frank Turner's new album. It's rather good. And the CD comes bound like a book. It's beautiful.

oh, and listen to the Bailrigg FM Punk Rock Show, that's good too.
Signature? Sounds like "shameless-self-promotion-ture" to me

It amazes me how big he is now (not that he has put on any weight - that he has masses of fans and a massively successful new album) but he totally deserves it. Lovely chap.

You should listen to "Song for Eva Mae" which I think is only on the special edition version. It is a lovely song about a particularly cool wee baby.

In honour of her birthday I tried to listen to song for Eva Mae but got interrupted and also wrote half a post. Sorry.

It was on youtube - you can fidn Frank singing it all acoustic like. She rocks.

I have learnt so much through my mistakes, I'm thinking of making a few more

I have just been introduced to cabaret punk you see, and find myself wondering where it's been all my life. Particularly this here band with practically the best name EVAR.

I need some mellow Marvin Gaye protest music.

That might work as a balm.

This is da balm: Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me

Here's the oil: Dead Kennedys - Moon Over Marin

Same problem about 10 years apart. Sadly, not a lot's been done in the last 40 years or so. :(

A caveat: The DKs video contains some unpleasant documentary-style footage comparable to what might be seen on a newsmagazine program, with animals in peril due to man's pollution.

Moondog - 1956 Moondog was a multi-instrumentalist who wrote and played his own music and created his own look. So, kind of like Prince, only he was a blind street musician that created many of his own instruments and dressed in tribute to the god Odin, and sold copies of his own sheet music. And thirty years beforehand. He also successfully sued disc jockey Alan Freed over the name "Moondog", as he was using it for some time before Freed used it for his early R 'n' R radio show. Freed apologized and ceased using the name. This is really quite listenable, multi-ethnic influenced jazz with his own instruments, strings, piano, recorder, etc.
