...why the fact that Talulah got her training in North Carolina would be a good thing?

Guess who's been listening to the Bugsy Malone soundtrack?

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
And it's not too late to change
I'd be delighted to give it some thought
May-be you'll agree that we really ought
Two, three, four

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be

Yes, that decision was ours
It's been decided we're weaker divided

Let friendship double up our powers

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
And I'm not saying that we should
But if we try it, we'd learn to abide it
We could be the best at bein' good guys

Flowers of the earth
Who can even guess how much
A real friend is worth?
Good guys, shake an open hand

May-be trusting
If we try to understand
No doubt about it
It must be worthwhile
Good friends do tend to make you smile

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
Yes, that decision is ours
It's been decided we're weaker divided
Let friendship double our powers

You give a little love
And it all comes back to you
(Da da da ra da da da)
You know you gonna be remembered
For the things you say and do
(Da da da ra da da da)

You give a little love
And it all comes back to you
(Da da da ra da da da)
You know you gonna be remembered
For the things you say and do
(Da da da ra da da da)
And on I read
Until the day was gone
And I sat in regret
Of all the things I've done
For all that I've blessed
And all that I've wronged
In dreams until my death
I will wander on

Can I just point out that this should be pronounced "who can even guess how much a real friend is WOITH"

I'm assuming there's some sort of cultural reference. Or maybe it's some sort of bizarre rhyming slang. Carolina...Va...no...it's a children's musical Hannah...stop it.

Becuase Arkansas wouldn't have rhymed with "No one south of Heaven's gonna treat you finer"

Any body who is anybody
Will soon walk through that door
At Fat Sam's Grand Slam Speakeasy
Always able to find you a table
There's room for just one more
At Fat Sam's Grand Slam Speakeasy

Once you get here, feel the good cheer
Like they always say in the poem
Fat Sam's ain't humble
But it's your home sweet home

Plans are made here, games are played here
I could write me a book
Each night astounds you
Rumours are abuzzing
Stories by the dozen
Look around you, cousin
At the news were making here

Anybody who is anybody
Will soon walk through that door
At Fat Sam's Grand Slam Speakeasy

Da da da da da da
Da da da da da da
Da da da da da da

Hoo ya, Hoo ya, Hoo da da da da
See the politicians
Sittin' by the kitchen
Said he caught his fingers
In the well he was wishin'

Once you get here, feel the good cheer
Like they always say in the poem
Fat Sam's ain't humble
But it's your home sweet home

Plans are made here, games are played here
I could write me a book
Each night astounds you

so you wanna be a boxer?
wanna be a champ?....................
I'm going nowhere......literally, I'm on a ring road!

You know you love me, admit it!

i've got I'm feeling fine in my head at the mo:

"...forget about sophistication
keep it simple
thats my style

Love at its best, a pleasure to make it,
A chance and a test, I'm willing to take it
If this strange new feeling is something that you're feeling tooOOOOOO...."

I'm feeling all nostalgic about when I was Bugsy Malone now...

And the night I forgot whether I was meant to say Dollars or Bucks and said £40 Ducks.

Oh dear.

I wanted to be in Bugsy Malone so badly....

I think I'd have made an awesome Fat Sam. My school only decided to do it when I was too old to actually play anyone.... However a lot of my accessories (icluding my pimp cane) went towards the costume of Dandy Dan.

I did get to be in Guys and Dolls though - so I had my gangster ambition realised.

And Hannah? Forty Pounds Ducks? Thats bonkers!

Reminds me of the Gary Larson cartoon of a bunch of gangster-looking people in long flasher macs and shades, standing around in a forest with binoculars.

The caption: "Boid watching"!
