We just had the following conversation, about a man who he plays Foopball with who is called Fishface.

Mr Kate: He's a very nice bloke, actually.

Me: Well don't call him Fishface then.

Mr Kate: We don't call him Fishface.

Me: But you just told me that was his nickname.

Mr Kate: Yes, but we don't CALL him it.

Me ................................!

In other news, he has just gone to the chip shop for me, for fish, chips and beans, because it is all bangy out, being Nov 5th and all.

I am slightly trepidant as to what I may be eating for my supper, as his culinary AND shopping skills are being mixed..... not holding out much hope.....

Woohoo, I am now eating Fish, Chips and Beans, with absolutelye no Lightbulbs or, indeed, Cheese!

It is Massive though - I asked for a small one. He said they didn't have Small, only Medium or Large, so he got me a Large one :)

I have just got all fish in the keyboard and now it won't type properly.

Large = better than Medium or Small in the realms of Fish and Batter :)

I'm sure there's some form of logic to that sentence somewhere... but I love it. No lightbulbs or cheese. Excellent!

Well, I thought that was obvious.. that's what husbands do, isn't it, come back from the shops with something totally random! (with mine it's usually 7 mangoes, because they were reduced, or 4 850gm boxes of cornflakes because they were on offer!) Mum White.

He is cooking jacket potatoes with beans. They will be ready in 25 minutes apparently.

*snippet of conversation*

Me (joking): I bet you've already put the beans on!

Mr. Kate: Yes.

(he really has. 25 minutes to warm up a pan of beans... hmmmm......)

I think it has something to do with logic and stress.... Women (and men who can cook) organise so that everything finishes cooking at the same time. Great. Nice hot dinner...but lots of juggling with hot pans at the end... can be quite stressful :( . Men, on the other hand (and women who've given up on the whole kitchen goddess thing) shove it all on at once and then forget about it... after all if the cooker turns out not to be working properly(as usual!) you can always go down the pub for a sandwich  ! Hey for stuff that you can just shove all in the same pot and it cooks itself in....well... some time... whenever you're hungry! Mum White.

see, normally i would say you can do that with baked potatoes...... bung 'em in the oven, then at the last minute open the beans and nuke them at 6 on the hob, stirring......

they were deliciousm by the way, and I have said thank-you politely :)

Isn't it sooo nice when someone else makes dinner though? Especially if they think of it all by themselves, and just do it :D mum White
