THAT is BRILLIANT!

I remember pulling an all-nighter to finish mine - got it to the binders at 6 a.m., picked it up and went into college; went into tutor's office with it behind my back and with a shamefaced expression..... thought she was going to have a fit..... then went "Ta-daaaaa!" and handed it in.

She still had a fit.

joinee jessie was very very small at the time (about 3), and I dedicated it to her: "For Jessica, without whose help this dissertation would have been completed much sooner."

Good grief, that's a bit violent isn't it? I hope things aren't that bad for you! I'm afraid I know nothing about your dissertation subject, but if you feel the need to bang your head on the keyboard, please go out for a drink or several - it's what got me through mine!

i feel like that now. just been writing about the young communist league in the 1960s, so you know i'm having fun! my eyes are hurting from looking at the computer screen and i hate it when statistics don't say what you want them to say!

now i sleep and then mark 40 papers on the russian revolution!

i keep telling myself it's only 23 days til i go on holidays!
trust me, i'm a doctor.
