My good friend Ashley is going on a Peruvian horse trek this year and she needs to raise £3000, this is in aid of the Blue Cross (animal charity)... anything you can give would be greatly appreciated

Hey all,

Myself and a close friend are doing a charity Jailbreak. This does not mean i'm breaking out of jail, what it does mean is that we are starting in Bangor, North Wales, and getting as far as we can from that point in 36 hours, with out spending ANYTHING on travel. some people have made it as far as morocco and tenerife by blagging their way onto airliners so we're looking to do as good as/better than them.

Haven't decided what charity we're going to do it for, because it's still in the planning process, but i'll keep you updated if you'd like to sponsor us :)

all the best,

Joe x

I love these kind of things. Do please keep us posted!

Hola Everyone!

I'm doing the Race For Life again this year and looking to match or better my sponsorship last year of £500.

I'm doing it in memory of my Nan and Mum, both of whom died before my 16th birthday.

If you've got a moment, please check out my site at http://www.raceforli...e.org/brittgale
There's some information about me and a little video if you wanna waste 5 minutes or get to know me a bit better!

Thanks in advance..

Britt xoxo

I'm doing a hitch-hiking/jailbreak event in a couple of weeks. This one is for Sport Relief (although I'm the first to admit we're doing it mostly because it should be heaps of fun and, as everyone points out, this sort of thing really is my cup of tea...). If anybody has £1 leftover from pay day and feels like donating, then have a nose at www.justgiving.com/tripodrunaway. Thanks ^_^

Hullo hullo.

I know Vixie's not on here much but I guarantee she's busy doing nice things along with Claire on the RAOK 365 challenge (a RAOK every day for a year)... see http://twitter.com/VixiePix and http://twitter.com/#...ch?q=%23raok365 for details...

Anyway, she's training up to do a half marathon on the 26th of September and raising money for the National Autistic Society. If you fancy doing a RAOK for her then please pop by http://www.justgiving.com/vixie. She's not done anything marathonny before so it's a big deal for her.

Thankoo!

A group of my friends are doing a bike ride from nottingham to plymouth in april for help the hero's. Upon asking if i could get involved, my best freind rather harshly said (in front of loadsa people) you wouldn't be able to do it and be a bit of a liability.

So I have taken things into my own hands and am now going to cycle John O'Groats to Lands end. 1- to piss him off. and 2 - I'm gonna raise more money then him.
I'm undecided on my charity yet and am sorting out the route this weekend, I was gonna join him in the middle on his route but he's said he'd rather not (what a willyface)

So yeah ideas for charidee's to sponsor would be good for a start as I'll then contact the winning charity and get some stufffs :)
I'll sort out a blog/just giving in the next couple of days but for now I have a facebook page I jus lumped together.

Maybe a male cancer charity or alzheimers? Just trying to think of those with a funding imbalance. (more men die from non-gender cancers than women, and more men die from prostate cancer than women do from breast cancer, but breast cancer charities get way more funding)

Or what about a charity for any sort of illness that has affected you or someone you love?

It's ultimately up to you and you might be more enthused about raising money if it was something personally important to you, which you care about. Also, for big things like this, people WILL ask you why you chose that specific charity.

I just seen this. Didnt realise there was a particular spot in the forum for Charity Requests.

Here is mine:

Hey folks,

So as most of you know, about a month or so ago, a guy at work was looking at getting a group of people together to climb Snowdon in Wales so I was like "Yeah that sounds like fun" and signed up to go. Then I found out that Snowdon was the highest peak in Wales and me being the size I am would most likely kill me and thought strongly about backing out. Now you may think, well Snowdon isn't that big. I did it and it was like a walk in the park. Well, to that I say...has anyone seen me recently? The most exercise I get is walking to work and rarely do a walk longer than about 45 minutes. So for me to decide to climb a mountain is a pretty big deal.

So a friend of mine said that it would be an idea for me to do it for charity. Because then I wouldn't be able to back out of it without good reason. So I chose Macmillan because they do great work. My Sister in Law's Dad died of Cancer just over a year ago and before he died he spent time with Macmillan. They Helped him day and night and it was all for free. It enabled him to stay alive a little bit longer and helped him to be comfortable when the time came. But this is just one story among thousands. They help people every day and I want help them to continue this great work they do.

I know some of you have sponsored my brother thank you for that and I am not expecting you to do the same for me too (its a lot to ask). But if some of you have some spare pennies around and you could sponsor me too that would be awesome.

The link to my JustGiving page can be found here!

Thanks again!

Everything I say is purely opinion until proven to be fact.
